I purchased an item for £32 from aria and got the £10 discount however I took the step of useing an old bank account which I only use for online stuff and moved the right amount of money into the account before my purchase.

    Everything seemed to go fine.

Just wondered if anyone has integrated google checkout on their web site yet and if so how it is working? .................

What I can't find in the google info so far is how to get my money out of google's clutches and into my bank once I have had some orders, - does anyone know? Is it like Paypal where you need to get to £50 and then you can just make a withdrawal free?

The only reference I have found to getting the dosh is
"By providing your bank account information, you can enjoy the convenience of having your payments direct-deposited. "
which implies the money is deposited directly the customer pays. Does anyone know if that is what happens?

They transfer the cash to your account two - three days later.

When your bank account has been verified, there is a section in your account details, asking how often you want the transfers to be, daily, weekly or monthly.
    Select which suits you best.

Just signed up for GC to receive payments. And have a couple of questions!

Can I receive funds from a customer before my bank account is verified?

I already am approved as I added my CC details, But am concerned the customer I just sent an invoice to won't be able to pay me until I'm approved!

Do customers see your google email address (i.e. the user id that you log in to google) at any point during their purchasing?

I already have a Google email account, but would not like customers to see its email address / userid as it contains my personal name. I'd much prefer it if the customer just saw a business name as it looks a bit more professional.

If the customer does NOT see my user id then I'll just use my existing personal account, otherwise I guess I'll have to create a new Google account using a business name for the userid.

OK I just went ahead and tried to open a new account.

It asks you to fill in a company address which is displayed to the customer when they initiate a purchase.

However I don't have a business address as such, and I don't fancy having my home address displayed to all and sundry. I think the address gets displayed at the first step in the purchase, so it's effectively visible to buyers and non-buyers.

Is there any way around displaying your home address like this?

your address is visable to buyers when they complete ebay checkout so google checkout displaying your address is of no concern really...

i just created a new google mail email address which i then used to register for google checkout - if you use more than 1 google mail email you'll find yourself signing in & out of google accounts...

Isn't that when someone has COMPLETED a purchase though on ebay? I don't mind purchasers knowing my address, at which point I'll probably know their address aswell; but it seems that anyone clicking your Google Checkout buy button will see the address without actually going any further with a purchase. That's why I said all and sundry would be able to view my home address.

At least paypal doesn't display my home address in that way.

Ebay really do like to play the "safe payment options" card with regard to Paypal. It's funny when Paypal is the worst system if you're a seller. I had a chargeback due to a fraudulent buyer and was left out of pocket.

I never do a "paypal only" search; cheques in the post is a good way to pay IMO.
Best of luck to Google checkout.
    Happy chappy
