EE launches today - opinions?

got to be aware of a tricky detail of 4G: different providers in different countries use different frequencies. EE uses 1800mhz. However UK should eventually be 2600mhz, as Europe is. US is 700 and 1700 and 1900 and 2100! Any one device will not be compatible with all these frequencies, but onyl to the frequency its radio is designed for. The larger the frequency the faster.
I don't know much more than this but hopefully the MSE community will get to the bottom of this!0 -
EE = Extremely Expensive !
They want to sign up as many people as possible on 2 yr contracts at exorbitant rates before the other 4G suppliers come on stream and prices fall dramatically - and people still fall for it !!!!0 -
no i think the prices are riculous i havent got 51 pounds a month for a contractWhat goes around-comes around0

There is no 3G version of the 920, are you confusing this with the Samsung SG3 or maybe the Nokia 820 (which is also 4G enabled).
The LTE 4G 920 works on 3G its backwards compatible, available on all networks soon, its world wide launch on 28th in USA, Europe stock has been shipped to suppliers, USA wait till mid Nov.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -

You are mixing up a lot of different things - yes, the LTE 4G will work on 3G networks but if a normal consumer walks into a store, the only network he can buy a 920 for is EE. None of the high street stores or major chains will be selling non-EE 920s before at least early 2013.
It is not even clear at this stage if you can buy it SIM free except from grey channels or from overseass.0 -
No no no....

They are coming, here HTC's WP8, launched at the same time (I think a poss contender for Nokia WP8) http://www.buymobilephones.net/mobile-phones/HTC/Windows-Phone-8X-by-HTC/Orange/Orange-Panther-36-7.50-Saver-%2824mths%29-inc.-Internet/14529862?adnetwork=af&utm_source=afp&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=35637SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... And where does it say that it's available on other networks? EE and P4U are the only two and P4U are only selling it on EE - that is straight from EE.0 -
With those prices the 4G will die very quickly in this country..
I'll keep my unlimited data 3G (currently 2.5Mb/s in my area), unlimited texts, 250 mins, free calls to the same network and free 0800 calls, all for £10 a month, thank you very much0 -
wales is next for EE, 4G will be rolled out by end 1st Q 2013 through out wales0

Really can't understand why anyone would want to tie themselves into a contract costing this much over 2 years! I guess we will wait for the thousands of threads asking how to get out of the contract early because they cant afford it.
And why do people need super super quick browsing and downloads speeds on a mobile phone? OK so you can stream TV and sit on youtube but surely 3G is more than fast enough for this.
I read on Giffgaff some people using 20+gb data a month. I don't even use this much on my broadband at home! I know everyones usages are different, but even so, this must mean streaming every day of the month for at least a few hours?
I used to have a phone with WiFi on, and rarely did I find myself out and about somewhere I couldn't get WiFi.0
