EE launches today - opinions?
So today EE (UK's only 4G provider) launched today with full information on all plans available. Though the cost seems pretty high per month (£50+) for most plans, having worked it out I don't think it's too bad at all.
I was looking at the 32GB iPhone 5 on a £56 roaming plan. You get 5GB data, unlimited calls and texts, and you can take your minutes and texts with you when you go abroad.
The upfront cost of the handset is £99.99.
So over 24 months, adding the upfront cost of the handset and taking away the retail price of the handset (£599) it works out as £35.17 per month.
Isn't that good for unlimited calls and texts, roaming and 4G?
What's your opinion?

Not for me, it isn't. Slightly faster browsing and more calls & texts than I can use. Got wi-fi at home, so data is too much as well.
So nit interested, particularly as it is not rolled out over the whole of the country and EE reception is pretty poor where I live.0 -

£56 per month for 2 years?! No thanks
*EDIT: dunno how you've worked that out as its still £56 per month, unless you're trying to convince yourself that its a good deal0 -
I doubt it'll seem like much of a bargain when you're stuck in an area that doesn't get 4g, which will be most of the country for some time yet. Very poor value at over £700 per year with the phone but I suppose some will just have to have it.0

I've signed up this morning to the £51 plan with 5gb of data.
You're always going to pay a premium for new tech, but I don't think the prices are that bad, they're only about £5 more expensive than the comparable 3g tarrifs on Orange.
Looking forward to 4g and being bale to tether my iPad to my iPhone.0 -
I am a T mobile customer - renewed contract on 1/4/2012.
I saw the 4G launch and liked it. I wanted to trasnfer.
Called T mobile who explained that as I was in contract I had to
i. Sign up to 4G price plan
ii. Pay for hansdet £150
All so far, so good, but then...
"you are in contract, so we will charge you an ealry termination fee of £530!!"
Now, after a bit of negoation, they said that they would subside this by 25%!!!!
I said that this was still too much - why did the EE website say "To benefit from superfast 4G you need move to EE. As a T-Mobile customer we have offers to help you move to EE, even if you are in contract. Click here to find out more about the great things you can get if you move to EE."
and also,
"The good news is, you don't have to wait until the end of your contract to upgrade - if you've been with T-Mobile or Orange for at least six months, you'll be eligible for an early upgrade at a discounted fee."
That discount they came back with was my "early discounted fee!!"
I do agree that I signed a 24 month contract - but...........
Rant over!0 -

Just to let you know you have to have a roaming plan with is an extra £5 on top of your price plan. Roaming isn't included in the standard tariff.Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -

I pay £14.75 per month for 1Gb Mobile Internet, 500 txts and 500 minutes - to tmobile - problem being the virtually non-existant signal - since EE appears to be putting all of it's resources in to 4G (the closest city with 4G is about 50 miles away from me)0 -
21Twinkle,
