I went to the doctor's on the Saturday morning

I'm more amazed that the OP got an appointment the next day let alone on a weekend. Whenever I call up my doctor the standard appointment time it 7-10 days. :D

....previously called...keep trying. Do you want a hint?

...it was originally Glasgow College of Technology...?

    What set it on fire?

    Unlike the OP ...
“One of my favourite cuisines, but visit resulted in food poisoning”
Reviewed 26 October 2012 NEW via mobile
I have visited the Chiquito in Manchester several times and have thoroughly enjoyed the food on offer. I was looking forward to visiting the Chiquito in the Metro Centre as a birthday treat.

We shared nachos and ribs as starters which were quite nice. I had chicken fajitas which were also OK but not up to quality I had experienced in the past. The staff were friendly and there was a positive and relaxed atmosphere.

However, a few hours later and I have been struck down with the symptoms of food poisoning. I will be visiting my doctor in the morning, but safe to say I feel appalling and cannot move from the bathroom.

I am disappointed that a high opinion of a good restaurant has been ruined. I feel the chicken was the main cause, but it's hard to tell as my partner had the mixed fajitas (prawns, steak and chicken) and he is fine.

It's cases like this that I feel sorry for the service provider!

I've no idea. I admit I have very little knowledge about these lower level educational establishments. I assume it was a poly?

Even then producing a random name of a student who attended a Poly in Glasgow in the early 70's is hardly definitive proof! I imagine going on Friendreunited (if it still exists) I could produce at least 50 names!

Oh dear. Am I suing Chiquito? No. My review is hasty, but I don't regret it, however am I telling people never to go there again? No. Am I demanding compensation? No. Will Chiquito be shut as a result of my review? No.

Have to laugh at the people questioning my motives and my own hygiene standards, I come on here asking for advice, but I suppose I should have known better. I might go and rub my nice tablet in the faces of innocent children so I can pass my germs around. I really fail to see why me taking my tablet into the bathroom is being scrutinized in such a petty way. Sure, it's a bit unhygienic, but hardly as big a deal as some are making out. I suppose none of you read in the bathroom?

Thank you again to those who are being constructive and mature about this.
