Food poisoning from Chiquito

the subject line should be changed unless proven.
Food poisoning which lasts a day? Its an upset stomach at best. Your doctor was going along with you as this is what you wanted to hear.
A bad review is fine if you can prove it, the subject line though could be classed as a false accusation.0 -
So you're accusing a medical professional of lying, then complaining about a possible false accusation? One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

Not true myself, my husband and my brother all had food poisoning many years ago and although we were all quite ill the main symptoms only lasted one day, hitting us all at different times (due to how fast individual bodies respond). Details of the how's and whys not necessary as part of this thread but not all food poisoning is prolonged, it really depends on what the bacteria is.

Most cases of food poisoning last about 1 to 2 days and symptoms resolve on their own.

If you are able to make it to a doctor and sit waiting in the waiting room to be seen without dashing to the toilet every few minutes, its likely you aren't that ill - especially so soon after onset. Its highly likely therefore that the doctor saw this as being a self limiting illness and "probably something you've eaten". In reality if you read the symptoms of food poisoning and the symptoms of norovirus (winter vomitting bug) its virtually indistinguishable without lab tests. The latter is pretty prevelant at this time of year and can be caught easily as most people don't realise they can spread it for at least 2 days after they stop actually being ill. They touch a surface, you touch it, then pick up your food etc and voila you've got it.Adventure before Dementia!0

One of my favourite cuisines, but visit resulted in food poisoningkajstring24 wrote:

I have visited the Chiquito in Manchester several times and have thoroughly enjoyed the food on offer. I was looking forward to visiting the Chiquito in the Metro Centre as a birthday treat.
We shared nachos and ribs as starters which were quite nice. I had chicken fajitas which were also OK but not up to quality I had experienced in the past. The staff were friendly and there was a positive and relaxed atmosphere.
However, a few hours later and I have been struck down with the symptoms of food poisoning. I will be visiting my doctor in the morning, but safe to say I feel appalling and cannot move from the bathroom.
I am disappointed that a high opinion of a good restaurant has been ruined. I feel the chicken was the main cause, but it's hard to tell as my partner had the mixed fajitas (prawns, steak and chicken) and he is fine.
Very disappointed and will be sure to avoid in future.0 -

Is this aimed at me?0 -
I don't see what is wrong with that review? It seems to state the sequence of events honestly. The only bone of contention is whether the food poisoning was a result of the Chiquitos or not. The OP believes it was but that review allows your to make your own mind upThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. So let's get this timeline right you were out for dinner Friday night, you felt ill Friday night but not that ill to stop you posting a bad review on Friday night.
In your review you even admit that you are not sure what the cause was.0 -

Yes, I'm well aware of what the details are, but realistically, you can eat anywhere and get a stomach bug. Thats what that is if it last a few hours - food poisoning is wide ranging, for the impact the OP had, this is nothing more than a stomach bug.
Lets not over dramatise the situation like the OP now..0 -
So both the OP and their partner had nachos, ribs and chicken and only the OP has food poisoning? Does that sound like Chiquitos is the source of the problem?0
