So what more would you expect them to do? You have given them a bad review before giving them a chance to respond. You have absolutely no proof that they were liable for poisoning you.

It could have been your lunch?

Once you write to them perhaps they will sue you.

I highly doubt that one negative view will be enough to destroy Chiquito. I feel their food was the reason, I wanted to share my experience. But when they do sue I'll be sure to let you know the outcome.

The OP can't run around accusing people of poisoning them with no proof that they have done so.

It would be like me accusing you of being a murderer and you having to prove you weren't you couldn't prove you weren't a murderer and nobody would expect you to prove you weren't.

The point I was really making was the OP decided to stick the boot into the restaurant on two public forums before giving them any chance to respond or offer any goodwill.

Perhaps the OP is just a disgruntled employee, who knows but their actions will have certainly had some impact on the business.

I don't see what the restaurant can do to respond? It would have to be a great piece of customer service to make the OP forget she suffered food poisoning.

I don't see anything they can offer to remedy the fact she was ill after eating there. Therefore I think quite rightly she should review her experience.

I believe the meal at Chiquito was the cause. I had chicken fajitas, while my boyfriend had the mixed grill (chicken, steak and prawns) and he was fine (possibly just unlucky with the chicken?)
On the Saturday morning who confirmed that I was likely to be suffering from food poisoning and should rest.
Does anyone know the best way to complain? I feel a bit uncomfortable claiming that their food made me ill because I'm actually fully recovered. I've been onto Trip Advisor and given them a bad review, but I feel that this warrants a slightly more serious response.

Unless samples were taken then you can not automatically assume it was food poisoning and the doctor does not said it was likely but could only assume due to symptoms, that being the case it could have been something else that caused it.

Unless you have sent samples to test for a definitive 'Yes' then I hope you said on Tripadvisor that you did not have confirmation and were assuming that it was food poisoning.
If you feel it was food poisoning and it was from there I would contact the Environmental Health people rather than rant and rave at the restaurant without conclusive evidence.

can you ask your local Environmental Health Officer to go for a look see?
call your local council and ask to be put through to Environmental Health...

Who knows but something is better than nothing.

    For example:-

We have traced the problem back to a refrigerated delivery out with our control, we are terribly sorry please have the meal on us and voucher for another meal for two.

Customer is happy that they were taken seriously and restaurant keeps a hopefully satisfied customer. Job done.

A satisfied customer? They got food poisoning! Maybe a less angry customer but they would never go back there!

    Hello everyone,

I went for a birthday meal at the Chiquito in the Metro Centre Friday night, unfortunately a few hours later I was out of bed, in the toilet with the symptoms of food poisoning. I went to the doctor's on the Saturday morning who confirmed that I was likely to be suffering from food poisoning and should rest. Thankfully, it was minor and I was fine by Sunday.

I believe the meal at Chiquito was the cause. I had chicken fajitas, while my boyfriend had the mixed grill (chicken, steak and prawns) and he was fine (possibly just unlucky with the chicken?)

Does anyone know the best way to complain? I feel a bit uncomfortable claiming that their food made me ill because I'm actually fully recovered. I've been onto Trip Advisor and given them a bad review, but I feel that this warrants a slightly more serious response. I can't find the address for head office either, so if anyone has that to hand it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Last time i went to chiquito in Glasgow, I had a very upset stomach few days but I never went to doctors.

Maybe its just mexican food :)

There are loads of bugs out there at the moment. It is not conclusive that the resaurant gave them the screaming ab-dabs !

I had the galloping wildies last week for 2 days, I hadn't eaten out for 4 weeks ! I can only put it down to visiting my dad in a nursing home and not anti bac-ing my hands when I left.

The issue I have is that reports like this, do not allow the company right of reply. Anyone googling Chiquitto will have this thread brought up in their list. Most probably, it is down to a bug, not the food.

I really do think that people, should contact the health dept first, prior to complaining on sites like this. They give no chance to the company concerned to put their viewpoint accross and putting them in a bad light. I don't find it very nice TBH

I think the OP and others are being a bit unfair on Chiquito here. As already been mentioned the food poisoning could have been caused by something the OP ate up to 3 days ago. Indeed it's more likely not to have been caused by the food from Chiquito. Why assume it's Chiquito when there is no evidence to back it up?
