  • Jazee - acouple of years ago York was snowbound and as I walked towards the station I saw a young girl (maybe 20) wearing a very thin, short, strapless dress and high heels ( no tights) and I was equipped for a quick trip to the North Pole..... and I am a northerner born and bred!

    Hello everybody.

Have a serious case of CHAOS and have been looking into flylady routines.

While I like the idea, a couple of things confuse me. I wonder if you can help?

    1. Getting dressed to shoes/get up 15 mins before everybody else.

It takes me much longer than 15 mins to shower, dress, dry hair and put face on. Should I really be getting up 45-60 minutes earlier?

    2. Making the bed as soon as you're out of it.

I like to air the bed, plus if I'm getting up an hour before OH, I can't make the bed because he'll still be in it!! How do you all get around this?

  • Friends left late last night, had DD1 on Skype from Uni upset and out of sorts til 2 am, so left the dinner things for this morning:o

    started well
    LR & DR tidied
    DW on
Kitchen hoovered - DR half hoovered - killed 2nd hoover half way through

Unfortunately I have no spare hoover belts for either hoover, although I have DIY helper here who could change it for me....so I will have to get out the 3rd hoover now....historically it takes about 2 weeks to get the spares in, which means my house ends up like a dump, so I end up in @rgos buying the cheapest hoover on special, but I am terrible at ordering spares, so I end up getting down to the 4th beaten up old hoover which sucks like an asthmatic with tourettes....

Sadly I know how to change hoover belts, but lack the physical strength in my wrist to actually do the job
maybe I will get all the model numbers and spares ordered for all 4 hoovers stuck on creditcard and get all of them in tip-top condition and keep a tin of spares in the house.....after 3 weeks of hardcore flying I don't want my house to slide back to where it was:o

DIY helper is just getting started for the day as I had to go and buy some more floorboarding to ensure I have enough before the shop across the road shuts at 12, as my car is too short to go to major DIY store for it

Taking some time out with DS watching kiddies programmes on youtube in one window and I am typing on here in another window :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

DIY helper promises to get floor 100% down before tonight so DD2 can come home and get her room back :D:D bad news is my room will need hardcore flying before I can go to bed, so I will be off list until later ;)

have a good day flyladies and flygents!
The cold never bothered me anyway

I didn't do a HHC earlier, in fact, I only moved from the sofa to try on clothes that were delivered and to make yet another cuppa. How is everyone else doing? Do you have any spare GUAG?
  • Good morning :D

Popped in to art club this morning to write a few cheques, then came home. There was a jumble sale in the church at the time, and i picked up a wooden Melissa & Doug puzzle that is about £17 on my Amazon wish list for £2 :j I could have got it for £1, but it was for a good cause :)

I have had my second cuppa now, and need to do more of my esssay - it is such slow going :( I am about halfway through :o

We are having a few fireworks tonight (I have given in & said DH can have 1 box) and some warming food. We have invited BIL,SIL & their 2 kids - which makes it a lot harder work. They will eat quite a bit, get all the toys out (even if I ask them not to - which means the dog has to shut in his bed ) and don't contribute to any food/clearing up etc. But hey - they are family! They haven't replied (they owe us some money, so maybe they are avoiding us!). I just hope they don't turn up out of the blue & expect feeding, as i will only be putting in enough jacket spuds for those that will be here! Rant over! :o

Ok - essay time!! I think I will do half hour (at least) study, then do a bit of food prep (soup, jacket spuds, bolognaise filling - leftovers can be frozen - & hot dogs - yum!)

You're not looking at the mega-scary American site, are you? We're much kinder and gentler than that; we go with organising your routines to suit you and your particular household.;)

F'r instance, it's be no good me getting up before Mr LW, because I need his assistance to bathe and dress.

I agree about bed-airing; we fling the duvet back to do just this, and I tidy it later in the morning.:o

Oh, and as for their "rule" about putting on shoes - not in this house, we don't! I always go barefoot, because anything on my feet hurts like the devil, and Mr LW has picked up the habit from me!:rotfl:

You stay with us, me dear, and you'll soon have CHAOS behind you.;)

There'll be a new thread next week - each day's lists get added to Post #1 as the week progresses, and do bear in mind the lists are suggestions not rules.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

 Hello to all my flylady friends .. yes it's the elusive LL making an appearance :D

I haven't got a clue what is going on in 'flyland' haven't even lurked for weeks but I hope you are all well. I do float on FB so thought I would let those on the Christmas Card list know I exist :rotfl:

Not much happening in my world to update you with .. still taking one day at a time, spending more & more of my life at The Royal Marsden but they are fantastic & taking good care of me.

For those interested, yes Tristan is still very much in my life & Ian Diva's OH & I are very close .. can't believe how much time has elapsed since she left us :(

Sorry, I always crash the thread & talk about me but I know there are some who are not on FB so don't see/hear how I am .. especially LW hope you are doing ok :A

Love & hugs to all ... count your blessings xxxx

Managed to get the banking and shopping done in record time. Kind of liking this thread and def looking forward to next weeks. Going to try my hardest to keep up with it.

Another thing to add to my list is to meal plan. Staying over at hubbys work on mon and tues (he works in a pub and is a chef) therefore no need to meal plan for those two days! Free tea for us!!

Need to get off the thread and clean!!
    on the road to recovery..:o
