In my personal opinion.....go for it lol...I can tell you it is fabulous to have a child with a man who really cares! At 17 I had my daughter with a man who was older and ended up being a bit of a waste of space and now cant be bothered (she is 18 but he hasnt been in touch for a few years) I then got married and had 2 boys but he became violent, was more worried about going to the pub after their births etc and would spend the last money on booze and ciggarettes etc.

I divorced him and had zero faith in men however fell in love with the most wonderful man, we got married he changed jobs to provide more money and better prospects and words so hard to give us a better life. He was never bothered about having a baby, felt it was my choice as I suffered with various problems in pregnancy which I was sure I would suffer with again, after our marriage he did want a baby as he felt so settled with us but no pressure but we went for it my youngest was 7 at that point so it was starting over again however the beautiful little girl above is our princess jennifer and brings us so so much joy and fun and to all the family and let me tell you the last 5 yrs have gone so so quick it never felt like a problem starting over...it truly isnt when you have someone amazing to share it with it is so easy and enjoyable it goes so quick....so yeah go for it, it is an amazing way to seal you love and to be honest it gets better every day!

I think that you should both just enjoy each others company and relax together :)

Ohh, I think Donny Osmond's post above would almost sway me!!!!!

I'm not in your exact position BS although I do have two children, but the thought of going through the newborn stage again sends me cold!!! Common sense prevails with me despite the odd broody pang!

    Jxx
And it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end

  • thanks jane lol...one other point to make, like me she has older children as does her man so that = babysitters lol...it is fabulous having an 18 yr old daughter and they have such a special sisterly relationship despite the 14 yr age gap...only let her babysit in the past year or so however she was a fabulous help to me as were my boys who are now 13 and 11 when i was pregnant and when jennifer was a new born...it makes life so much easier and hubby and i still get good times together and come september she will be at school *sniff sniff*...I'd do it allllllllll over again but 4 is enough lol and its snip snip for hubby soon lol

I have not been in the position of considering a child with a new partner but did have 2 kids (then 9 and 6) and desperately wanted a 3rd (dh not so keen at that point). Took the plunge and am so glad I did. my 3 are now 13,11 and almost 4. Although the gap seems large at the time it seems to soon close up.
Saying that this was my experience and I think you need to have a really long heart to heart with your partner first and come to a decision you are both happy with.
  • oooo thought of another reason....having a young child/baby is a totally fabulous way to put the other children off having babies young themselves lol, it gives them the experience without it being their problem so to speak, they can see the hardwork and pain/suffering/swollen ankles/throwing up morning noon and blinking night lol...
  • i wish!!
re-married at 31, had 3 kids at the time 13, 6 and 4, we tried and unfortunately i didnt fall pregnant, tried for almost 2 years then told i had secondary infertility due to ediom......that word i cant ever spell!!
anyway, thank god i didnt leave to starting my family late, otherwise i would never have had any kids, so, if you want to go for it then go for it, like i say, i wish, but hun, if you dont, believe me, if you love each other it really doesn't make any difference, just a small hankering occasionally. hth.
  • endometriosis...I think thats how its spelt lol

I'm really not sure what I would do, BS, but I'd definitely have fun practicing :p
