Thanks OODAL :) I follow quite a few blogger blogs, and have long thought about starting my own.
  • Hi Everyone!

Well I am back to claim NSD number 8. Unfortunately today won't be a NSD as I need to do my weekly shop. I have a few vouchers and things, so hopefully won't be too bad! Need to start making proper dinners to take to work though on my late shifts. Working til 11pm with only a small sandwich in my belly just won't do!

Some good news though, Mummy bear bought me an iPad in the C*met closing down sale, so I will be able to keep up to date with MSE alot better now! :T

Had a spend day yesterday - £63 for food/household/toiletries shopping. Ouch!!
In my defence it is for 3 people plus pets, and we needed to get to £60 to get 15p per litre off the fuel as we were on fumes.
I can't believe how hard it was to make myself spend that much money (in a good cause - cheaper fuel) now I've got into the NSD mindset. At one time, only a few weeks ago, I wouldn't have blinked at that.

I got 8 reduced cooked chicken quarters for £2.10, 2 bags of mixed fresh rolls (12 in total - paninis, bagels and croissants) for 0.9p each bag, 4 pies for 89p and some frozen ready meals on offer at £1 each.
It will last quite some time with what I've already in the cupboard and freezer.
I didn't know about the freezing milk tip, so in future I'll buy a huge one and freeze it in smaller bottles - should save a couple of days towards my NSD.

I also went to the library and got out half a dozen books to keep me occupied. Usually I'd think I was being frugal getting them from a charity shop, but as long as I remember to take them back in time and not incur a fine, this is cheaper, and I don't need to find storage space.

((HUGS)), you arent weak, you are human, and learning! We all have bad days, especially when kids and husbands are concerned :D. Just put it down to experience, and move on.
If you are able, save some money from your next few weekly shops to make up for the £23, or sell some extra stuff on ebay.

    chin up.
  • Thankyou......must be more exhausted than i thought cos i read your post then cried. Youre right i can't let this beat me. Will rebudget and try harder.x

Not bad for a freebie... and healthy too!!!

All helps to stock up the food cupboard and save money.

    :T

    Additional:

On the NSD side of things... I managed to resist buying food - corn cakes, chutney and quorn peppered beef (going out of date!) actually taste ok lol...

I did go to the gym though which was something I didn't have to do - but am DETERMINED to keep fit and healthy now I've turned 40! Am seeing it as an investment... During the week am planning to use the gym at work (as it's free). I tried jogging but feel silly and am not doing speed walking ha ha! So once a week at £3.75 I can do... Not a NSD for me today then but not gonna feel too bad about it as I didn't go out to the fireworks night or for my birthday (which I had factored in as spend days) so am still on target!!!

Saying good night at 9 NSD's still.

Hello all. Popping in to claim NSDs for yesterday and today. As expected, Hubby wanted a bottle of wine last night so glad I bought one when I did my shopping. He also wanted takeaway and I whipped up a pizza from a frozen base found in the freezer (from when I found a packet mix out of date in cupboard and made it up into 2 bases to freeze) tomato puree, cheese n veg :)

Just had a mammoth kitchen session - beef stew in the slow cooker, made chicken n veg soup (5 portions for my lunch next week and a pan for our lunch tomorrow - 7 portions for approx £3, yay!) and can't believe how much chicken I got off the £2 pack of chicken legs (I'd usually use more expensive breasts, never again) there was enough to treat the kitties to a few scraps too. Also made a banana cake and an apple cake (but that hasn't turned out too well, more like a pudding texture and crumbly)

    Expecting a NSD tomorrow too.

Keep plodding on, we can do this! xxx
