Morning!
Food shopping day for me, and not a moment too soon as the cupboards are looking bare!
My asda shop came to: £48.23 in the end, after i added a few bits then added delivery charge.
Will add that to my signature now. I am off out for the day today, to visit a friend. Wont have to spend any £ though, as she is making us lunch
Have a great day!0 -
Good Morning!!!
I am out and about tramping across London already! Flask of tea, fruit, mac&cheese ready in a tub to be eaten cold and a jam donut 'borrowed' from a stash at work yesterday! Anyone who's leaving has to provide goodies for the office as opposed to the other way round! Ha!
So my appointment is at 10am, but I'm walking from work where I left the bike! This is a 40 minute walk and saves pennies on a bus fare AND burns off those treats I stuffed my face with last night! Dedicated eh? But London is great to explore so this suits me just find!
I'll be reading throughout the day but shan't be able to reply so keep up the excellent work, spur each other on.. Get another NSD in there and make me proud!
Onwards and Upwards!!!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -

Could you fry the potatoes with the onion..add the diced apple and kiwi as a slightly weird take on a salad..?
Nothing quite so exotic I am afraid, I had the apple with my lunch and onion went onto pizza with some ham and tinned pineapple. The taters and kiwi get to live another day.
I had a spendy day today as planned for the weekly shop and it seemed like I had loads of shopping considering but still slightly under my $100 budget. I did get extra butter (on special), which will do me later in the month for some Christmas baking, plus raisins and glace cherries to make my Chrissy pudding this weekend.Mortgage

Morning all.
:oSpent a little more than planned at SM last night - £41.06 (after £5 discount voucher) instead of £36.63 but I ended up buying the large £4 pack of frozen fish (that's a few meals for next week there) as the £2 pack was OOS and I added a bottle of wine to my trolley
I know the wine seems frivolous BUT I haven't told Hubby about this challenge (if he thought I was cutting back he'd feel he was missing out and then want stuff more if that makes sense) and I just know if there's no wine in the house, he'll want some and end up going to the local corner shop (C0-0P) and spend far more than the £4 I did on a bottle of wine.
I bought a 4pt milk as it was 2p more than buying 2pts but we don't use milk that much so I thought I'd freeze it in smaller 1pt cartons. I know some of you freeze your milk. How long does it last once it's been defrosted? Does it have to be used within a day? Does the Use by date matter? Do you just defrost it in the freezer?
ETA: EBay items are doing well - 1 lot of stamps at £15, the other at £16 and SAD light is at £390 -
I have been freezing milk for years, I leave it out overnight on the bench to defrost, and use in the normal way, it usually lasts as long as a fresh pint does so no need to worry about it going off

Had a spend day today as I spend £14 in Mr T to top up groceries.
Also went to a few jewelers in town about my items. The silver would have just gone for scap metal (£2 each:eek:) so I didn't sell it but will put it on ebay. Two really oldfashioned frumpy gold rings went for £65 for the scrap goldbut a third one she gave back to me as she said they already have too many off them but it's to valuable to sell for scrap gold. So I might put it up on ebay too as I've seen similar ones for £150+ :j.
Totally knackered today and still full of the cold so off for a wee rest.
Edit: Might not bother with the silver on ebay either as it's only going for penceDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
After reading so much advice on here I have stuff on ebay from last w/end's free listing sitting at £89 with a day to go. I also took some of my mother's jewellery that I didn't want and which has been sitting in a drawer to a local dealer and got £220 CASH for it! Just as well because the two together will just about cover the oil bill which will be debited next week.
The other 'battening down the hatches' thing I've done is to take the bus, using my old lady's bus pass, instead of driving twice this week. That has saved 60 miles AND extortionate hospital/town centre car parking. I intend this to be a permanent change. :A
Oh, and I've still got most of last week's £150 left, so won't be going to the ATM this week, and hope to last until Friday. Of course these last two points are related to each other!
I plan to do what I know a lot of people do and check my balance the day before the pension goes in. Then I'll move all of it across to savings. In the past I've thought, oh good, more to spend next month.
Btw, does any-one know approx when Lidl get their frozen geese in? I checked earlier this week but it was all game eg venison, partridge etc, which I can get cheaper at a local butcher. But not geese!0
