I've recently been informed that some local 'chairs' (2) are claiming up to £12,000 per annum as clothing allowance, wonder if they buy nice warm coats with their allowance whilst they sit in their little limousines ?
Old people are dying jobdone1 and this is going on under our very noses daily!!!:(:(:(
Someone needs to get a grip!!!!!!:mad::mad:
'Want' - this is one that really generates the bile. How much would these crafty thieving 'Bravo Alpha Sierra Tango Alpha Romeo Delta Sierra' need in the way of extra clothing allowance - should they need to visit our troops in Afghanistan? Perhaps they could save some of the extra clothing allowance- they would undoubtedly demand, by asking a bunch of our Professional Soldiers, on tour out there, if they would mind sharing the few Flak Jackets they possess, with the visiting dignitary. 'No problem Sir. Yours is the one marked with a big yellow X'
Very, very, seriously.Yet another case of the 'little people' being systematically robbed. It seems you simply establish a bunch of 'no brainers' - pay them a retainer of £50K a year, and call them 'The Remuneration Committee'. No matter what the business or organisation. Then, at the annual general meeting. The first item on the agenda 'Directors Remuneration'. With figures suggested by the Directors, for the Remuneration Committee to propose. (That is if you wish to remain on the 'Remuneration Committee!') Even 'Alice in Wonderland' would never be so brazen as to set up such an obscene scenario.
I suppose, as we drift rapidly into a 'third world' status. There will come a time, when, eating rats & dogs, will sharpen our taste for vengeance against the perpetrators of our downfall. Half looking forward to it!0 -
Hi i opted to switch a month ago to blue price promise after martins email suggested a switch and they are in the process of switching me over.
Does this mean when I join EDF that this price applies to me i am so confused
kind regards

This is the question posed to me very recently:
"Should the Chair of XXX receive a £8,580 and her vice chair £4,280, Clothing allowance. A total of£12,860?"
When old folk are 'dying' because they cannot heat their homes, especially on nights like tonight these Chairs should:
"hang their heads in SHAME" and rest assured it will be brought to the attention of relevant public .....one way or the other!!!!0 -

If you have signed up to a fixed price deal (which I think you have) the price quoted at that time is the price you will pay for the duration of that product. It doesn't matter that the switch has not yet been completed.0 -
Just had a quick look back. EDF Fixed Price 2015 was available early 2011. It is £1,018 for medium usage, which just beats Scottish Power Online Fixed November 2013 (£1,030 medium usage). At this point in time, it is looking like amazing value, since it should cover three winters even now.
So you shouldn't moan about EDF too much.
They gave you a good deal, and you didn't grab it.
By vigillantly checking the deals, I am so far ahead of EDF Fixed Price 2015, but I am expecting to have paid more by 2015 overall. If only E.On had matched this deal in 2011, it would have saved me a lot of work.0 -

If your general comment is directed at me, I'm very annoyed at EDF and am now looking at switching & fixing to Scottish Power, which I would never have done before. I have never ever looked at switching before & never checked other energy company tariffs before.
I have now checked quotes with uSwitch & Energyhelpline.

I'm pretty annoyed myself as I said previously I was 'Cold Called' by EDF just a few days ago and no mention was made of fixing until 2015. Quotes in my possession are proof they did not!:mad:0 -
If I understand correctly, the 2015 deal was some time ago and will have looked expensive relative to other deals at that time, but as it turns out will have been a good long term buy. The Blue April 2014 deal (which I'm on) isn't that much more, but was a no brainer a couple of months ago, still being available when SSE began the present round of price rises. However it runs out sooner.0

I think they update & replace fix tariffs on day of price rise.
EDF advisors told me know they don't know when price rises happen. I spoke to EDF on Thursday.0
