My MIL used to get these to the point they were a few times a day - he claimed to be from Microsoft, that there was a serious problem with her computer which they could arrange to get fixed immediately. We found he would not take no for an answer until we asked for his name and company as we are registered with TPS (Telephone Preference Service) and therefore would be reporting them for ignoring her instruction. The calls stopped. It is worth registering your landline and mobile.

I have done the above once for gynae and once for child eczema with no referral either time from gp. On both occasions the result was the same outstanding. I went local private hospital. You may have to wait couple of weeks for appt to see the private consultant- don't be shy on phone about asking for cost. Obviously if you had doctors notes to bring to first appointment then that would be good- your gp will support you on this one. If they don't you can pay for a copy of the notes- think £25ish and they have to produce that.
If he prescribes anything you can get your gp to transfer the script to an NHS script. These are my experiences - please don't shout at me anyone I am only trying to help this loyal mse girl:)
Just got to this post and can't believe I've just written the exact same thing about the excema, so I can second it works:)Beware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:0 -

Please note
no disrepect to pattylabelle ( think that is a wonderful idea) but when I was starting out on the diagnosis route for DS I was advised to check with the Education Dept with Local Council first. As some councils will not accept a private diagnosis for extra help in classrooms or moving to more suitable supported school. It had to be Cahms(Children & Adolescent Mental health Services) or nothing. I'm am sorry tomaybe put a dampener on what sounds like a great idea but would hate for you to spend lots of money for something that you could not use. As for routine, yes it is vital, try a visual timetable at home and school, I also use a large sandtimer to count down an activity that he really likes doing when it need to end, to try and stop any meltdowns, ie coming off the computer

I got a letter from CAHMS last week as I asked me doctor to refer DS a couple of weeks ago and they have said they would not get involved until he has a seen a Behavioural Paediatrician and they don't normally work with children under 11. He has only just turned 6. School have also said I need to get a correct Diagnosis myself xNow on the 5:2 diet.

I now have a few Fingers and Swiss Chocolate which obviously did not work....would it be ok to return the items, as I definitely don't want to pay that sort of money for them! Opinions please.0 -
Still catching up but just wanted to add something here, its not the same but similar. When DS was little he had excema. It was really bad, so bad that he had to go into A&E a few times as his hands literally looked liked they'd be burnt:( We got so fed up with waiting for hospital appointments that I took him privately to see a consultant, did the same thing as Pattylabelle, paid the fee(Which was about £80 then) and straight away he said I'll see him under NHS as he needs more treatment.Appointment came through in a week for the NHS;)I did it out of desperation but it worked. We actually had insurance but he still did it as he felt so sorry for DS.
Thank you going to start ringing a couple nowx

The worst day when he was excluded was Harvest Festival day and the day was completely out of sorts and nothing and I mean nothing went to normal routine. A parent has approached me about that morning and advised that the whole situation was not dealt with correctly as she witnessed the morning problems and she nearly went into class and took him out. Are you getting a referral or do you think changing schools will help you out?
if you feel the school are in the wrong as they know your situation pull them up on it as its unfair to exclude when hes finding "surrounding "hard to deal with
im trying to get a refural but id perfure her to go to a school that will keep up with her ,
( theres a good few privet school(with falilaties to help my daughter but i cant afford the prices they want):(
