Anyway, he spoke to them again on Friday and asked to speak to the supervisor, who despite being relatively calm (the original call handler was not calm and was very angry and abusive) insisted that they do not have to communicate in writing, will NOT communicate in writing and if the whole debt is not paid within 24 hours the Bailiffs will be on the doorstep. My son said 'bring it on then mate, I'll be happy to slam the door in their faces because without a Court order they have NO RIGHT to even knock on my door!'. The supervisor said they will be 'fast tracking' him to Court. I've told my son not to worry, that as far as I can see they have yet to take anyone to Court, and even if they did, they would have to explain to the Judge their underhandedness, exhorbitant fees and direct refusal to communicate in writing!

Hi everyone, I posted this some time ago, but the saga continues. As you can see from the above, I paid my son's original loan, plus a month's interest. Since then, Marshall Hoares Bailiffs have continued to harass him, and he got home from work one day recently to find a handwritten scrap of paper on his doorstep saying they had visited!! He got scared and called me and I told him not to worry, that they're not legal Bailiffs and they can only call in person if they have a Court Order to do so. In their handwritten 'letter' (it was more of a note) they said they would call again, and again, until he gave them the money he 'owes'. Anyway, they haven't visited again, but have continued with texts and calls, all of which he ignores.

However, over the past few weeks they have started calling ME!!! They just called about half an hour ago (on a Sunday afternoon). Each time they call, they won't say exactly who they are (they, when asked, say they are 'MHB' and when asked for clarification as to what that is refuse to say), and they ask if my son is here. Each time I tell them he moved out of home four years ago and they give me a phone number to give to him to call them 'urgently'. Of course I tell him they've called, but he doesn't respond. They are still calling him.

Is there anything I can do about these calls? I don't know why they're contacting me or even where they got my details from!!!

Bt will change your landline number for free if you are been harassed, alternately they have a service called "choose to refuse" which costs £6 a month but you can barr up to a dozen numbers from contacting you, with mobile numbers you could change your simcard, you do have options here which will rid you of these fools.
