Pay them, tell them they're not getting any more money and to take you to court if they're stupid enough to think their charges are enforceable.
If you've received a default then you should offer to pay a reasonable default fee too.
I have received no default...the loan is only actually a day overdue, they began trying to add charges and scare me before it was even over. So I paid £36 and now they want £688.
They are having no more than £282, last week they replied straight away and now I'm getting no replies at all. Which is very strange.0 -

Report them to the Office of Fair Trading too, especially if they're starting to get nasty before the loan is even due back. First time I've heard that and I've read a lot of stories about them so they might be escalating.
How they're still in business is beyond me...What will your verse be?

I hate already made a complaint...yet they are still adding charges for no apparent reason and having "bailiffs" ring me constantly.
I do find it strange that I have had no email stating these charges though?? It was only because I logged on to see. I'm wondering if something has happened as had no phone call at all in the last 24 hours (it was 10 + the days previous).
Why would communication just stop?0 -

Hopefully they've had their credit licence taken away but that would just be too perfect
You could try reporting them to the police for harassment but they'll probably just say it's a civil matter.
You will not have to pay those charges no matter what they say - don't worry. What will your verse be?

That's good to know
! That would be too good to be true...have they not had it taken away previously, yet still manage to come back under knew names?
Pretty sure they used to be "Speed Credit" which had its' licence taken away.
The clue is on their website (http://www.speedcredit.co.uk/):
"We want to thank all of our loyal customers of the past years.
We have assigned our outstanding debts to Web Loans Processing Limited who have instructed Northern Debt Recovery Limited to help assist you repay your loan."
Oh, them again.
Toothfairy always threatens people with CCJ's, but I can't find ONE report of them taking anybody to court. Amazing isnt it!What will your verse be?

It is! People are always happy to pay a decent and fair amount, then they go and put silly charges on top! How they actually get away with it is amazing!
You could understand if people were refusing to pay and they debt was growing over a number of years...not a couple of days.0 -

Just one thing, write to your bank and tell them you withdraw permission in accordance with Regulation 55 of the Payment Services Regulations 2009 for Toothfairy/Northern Debt Recovery/Marshall Hoares Bailiffs/any other company acting on their behalf to charge your debit card and you will be entitled to a full and immediate refund if the bank ignores your instructions.
Otherwise they'll try and empty your account at some point possibly, they've done it before. What will your verse be?

I did this....and NatWest replied after almost two weeks to say that they do not have the powers to do this as they take payments by service card(I don't know what that is?)

Natwest are incorrect, write to them again and insist that they do have the powers to do it. Anybody in the UK has a right to withdraw permission for payments to be taken from their card and the banks must listen. It's a shame so many are not aware of this. What will your verse be?
