MSE News: Welfare reforms 'to hit disabled'
Comments

Nothing will change that - it will only get worse! Hence the massive increase in disability hate crimes. It is quite acceptable now where I live that any person in a wheelchair after 7pm runs the risk of being 'tipped' out of it onto the floor. Sainsburys and Tesco car parks at night are the favourite down here.
Where do you live? Bazra?
I think that we have to take what you say with a pinch of salt, but we are in danger of a sodium overdose.SPC #1813

They don't pick on disabled they pick on just about every one butyou only see your situation.
Why should MP try to live on benefits? I think they get enough correspondence from constituents to get an idea.0 -
There have also been several fly-on-the-wall shows where MP's have lived on benefits with families.SPC #1813

Why cant the MP's who have just awarded themselves a payrise, try and live a week on benefits and see how they cope?
My husband has NOT had a payrise from his employer for a mere 3 years, and I think MP's have a bloody cheek giving themselves a payrise!!
And why do MP's keep picking on disabled people!!??
MP's not only gave themselves a pay rise but they are still fiddling their expenses and the leader of the house says that it would be a security risk giving out information about them. These people are protected left right and centre.

Also if the average man or woman was sent to prison for not paying their TV license or council tax or some other minor offense, when that person came out prison they would find it very difficult to find work due to been in prison, but when a titled member of parliament spends time in prison for fiddling their expenses he can walk back into to his job as if nothing had happened.0 -

Whalley Range, Manchester.
It could be likened to Bazra at times, but it is a great place to live.
Have you never heard of 'tippin'? Maybe it is a northern pastime.
Believe it or not, I don't particulary care.

Wow! I don't normally comment on this forum, but that's too much. Northern pastime? Please don't liken the north with your twisted mind.£2021 in 2021 no.17 £1,093.20/£20210 -

None of your links mention anything about 'tippin' only hate crimes against the disabled and that is not surprising when you consider the many weak minded people being taken in by the many myths.
On this forum, the myth that all disabled people are on benefits or that they never worked and paid taxes when they were well or yet to be disabled is rife, and so I understand why you feel at 'home' here Andy, you share many of their beliefs.
I live in the north and have contact with many disabled people on a daily basis and neither they nor I have ever heard of 'tippin', but coming from a man who committed suicide and is still able to post in this world, I doubt anyone else knows of this practice - in this world anyway.Disabled people have become easy scapegoats in this age of austerity.

What student loans issue?
The one that came into power this academic year, it was assumed that the interest was RPI + 3%, where as a matter of fact it turned out that that was not completely true, it depends on the amount of income you receive to how much interest is added on.[STRIKE]Beggars cant be choosers, but savers can![/STRIKE]That used to be the case :mad:0
