    How pompous!!!

Your reply is too... you feel able to say such things because you don't actually have to live with those problems and such people.

No doubt that many people with unforseen disabilities, such as epilepsy, will be punished yet again.

    Aren't most disabilities "unforseen"?

I think Keet means unseen, or so called 'invisible' disabilities.

Totally agree with you. I've said this many times over.

For those that are taking more than they put in and that there is no hope for it ever changing, they should be considered as surplus to requirement.

Hey they do it to animals, why not people.

I'd be happy to go that way if all I had to look forward to was a life on benefits for the next 25 years!!

    Wow, just wow.

You want to bet on that??

Many ordinary hardworking people see those that are a constant drain on society as something that needs attention.

Just think how much better this country would be if you cut the Welfare budget by say 75% overnight!

You mean the MRC you receive?

As in not known about until the person actually informs you about their disability.

    Gobsmacked!

Think you we're born 70 years too late mate and in the wrong country.

Remember disability can affect anyone at anytime, wonder if your views would be different if it was yourself or your child who were unfortunate enough to become disabled?

    God help us all.
I USED TO BE INDECISIVE BUT NOW I'M NOT SO SURE!

Rich people tell you that money doesn't bring you happiness just so the poor people don't feel jealous.

But anyone who is still entitled to ESA on paper because they are not well enough to work will lose the benefit because of means testing. This is happening, so is this not discrimination?

It's not as clear cut... ESA is a sickness benefit designed to make basic cost of living... rather than a benefit designed to put disabled people on equal footing. So equality legislation regarding the disabled.. issues of their being able to enjoy the same opportunities and private life as others are probably not considerations.
