Went into NatWest today to have a review done on my account. I mentioned to the advisor that I was in the process of claiming bank charges back and would my account likely to be closed. She replied that she didn't think so. During that conversation she said she thought that bank charges were too high £38 if I go the slightest over drawn.
One though I had was, my credit card company Cap1 have lowered their charges to £12, does anyone think banks will now follow suit, or will we still have to put up with these high charges.
    2008 won £5119.04 :j
    2009 won so far £0:rotfl:

Yes I've had the same with them. They posted a cheque to me for about 20% of the claim.

I just wrote back to them and said I will accept the cheque as part payment but I intend to carry on my claim for the full amount - then I just carried on as normal ;)

Ok great i'll continue with the rest of the claim! cheers;)
    Reclaimed Charges £2433 :D

  • also received letter today dated 13/3/07 saying that I will receive a cheque for £315.48 (refund of charges+int+fee) in next 14 days.:j

But why have they defended on the MOL website?

This does not seem to make any sense. I presumed I would contact the court and let them know I had received a full offer. They say they have written to the court to say they have paid in full - yet MOL reads differently, did anyone else have this problem, or are they going to defend and not pay me.

    What's going on?
I'm just looking, I'm not buying.............

    Hi,

I had this with Capital One - they sent me cheque for the full amount (claim + interest + court cousts). I just emailed MCOL to tell them what had happened and they sorted it out from there :D

Wait for the cheque to clear...if you are up against any deadilnes for AQ return or such like then let the court knw you have made an agrement to settle and wish to adjourn you case for a monht to allow funds to be received. Don't withdraw until you have cleared funds.

I'm very annoyed as I sent Cap 1 my first charges refund letter on 5th March and they claim to have not received. I hate phoning Cap 1 as it always go through to long distance call centres...anyway I have had to post another letter today to a PO BOX 5281 address..

anyone else found this with Cap 1?

Are Capital One of the complaines that do cash your £10 cheque that you send with your 1st letter?
Ive claimed back from 2 banks now but both have always sent my statements free of charge. Do Capital one send you back the cheque uncashed.
I dont think ive ever been charged by them hence am wondering if I cgance the £10
