  • Yes an absolute nightmare, my partner had a claim when some idiot drove into her and refused to accept liability. They took 10 months to pay out, even after sdaying claim was agreed took 2 months for them to send the money. Would not recommend them.

Quinn probably spend that 10 month period trying to get out of paying, the Solicitors they use in Dublin r ruthless, Ive dealt with them, ruthless too nice for them,

Please read the above posts from myself and if ur still annoyed by quinn directs actions towards ur wife, i urge u to send a letter of complaint to the financial services ombudmans in england not ireland, as the english fsa, rules northern irish policies, not the irish fsa,

Hi, just wondered if anyone had used Quinn direct for car insurance before. They are the cheapest insurance quote we have had and we found them on insuresupermarket.com. Has anyone used them? as I've never heard of them and just wanted to make sure they are alright before handing the money over. Thanks

NO NO NO NO NO, please dont go with quinn direct, cheap price means cheap service, quinn being investigated by BBC NEWS and THE FSA.

Do you have a provisional licence by any chance?
  • The Irish financial authorities have now appointed an administrator to run Quinn Insurance.

We had a claim with Quinn due to one of their insured cars smashing into my car and my front wall. Quinn were very professional about the whole affair. I had slowed things down in my side (my fault) but they kept calling week after week to sort everything out. In the end they paid for all the damages caused and accepted the costs we gave them. So I have no complaints. Since then I took out car insurance from them - they were the cheapest - but now they have gone bust in the UK I don't know what this means for me.

A happy day for my lad passing a driving test marred by the insurance premium hike they expected me to pay.

My initial policy cost just short of £800 to cover a Suzuki Alto with myself and my lad who was holding a provisional licence. I thought that was pretty excessive in the first place, as I was paying £150 for fully comprehensive insurance (protected no claims) prior to that.

On changing the detail of the policy (my lad obtaining a full licence) they decided to try to charge me nearly £400 in an additional premium (up until September).

MSE users - just be careful what you end up buying. Quinn insurance reel you in then sting you rotten, especially in a situation described above. AVOID!!!!:mad::mad:
  • I know this is an old post but i just found it... and man i wish id seen this before...

Some Idiot drove into me then claimed on their insurance that i hit them... in Quinns infinate wisdom they paid out without even telling me i get a little guy come round my house asking to look at my car to check damage which is non existant. and so thanks to Quinn-direct my insurance goes up by a lovely £1,500+ next year

Thanks quinn... Serriously AVOID Quinn-Direct at all costs!!!!!!!!
