Anybody used Quinn Direct ?

seriously if you didn't use every single company who you had heard one complaint about - you wouldn't use anyone! I can say honestly that I know a lot of people who use Quinndirect and have never had a problem, and they are so cheap your complaint above wouldn't annoy me at all - but then I insure third party so I wouldn't be getting any money for my car anyway.DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

Does anyone know how we can get our money back ?
We are fully comp with Quinn insurance, and was unfortunate to have someone drive his car into the back of my stationary car.
Ok it was repaired fairly prompt, however I have had to pay £175.00 excess for no fault of my own.
This was in May, and I have phoned up chasing them to give me my money back, and they keep telling me that they will pass it on to me when they recieve it from the third parties insurance (Norwich Union)
I phone each week, but still get the same reply.
Is this usual, or can I get this money back which is owed through another means?
Many ThanksNamed after my cat, picture coming shortly0 -
As Quinn Direct are not being much help here is a cheaper and hopefully a quicker way to get your money back.
1- Find out Norwich Union address and claim reference from Quinn.
2- Write letter to NU mentioning the reference and enclosing a copy of the garage receipt for the £175.00 excess saying that you wantit refunded because their policyholder hit you in the rear.
3- Buy 1st class stamp and post the letter to NU.
4- Wait for cheque to arrive.
5- If nothing received in two weeks write to them chasing the money.
Hope this works for you.0 -
I quite agree with maclean2. Whilst your insurers should be chasing the TP, not least because they should want to recover their own outlay, there is certainly no harm in approach the TP's insurers direct.0

Hi, just wondered if anyone had used Quinn direct for car insurance before. They are the cheapest insurance quote we have had and we found them on insuresupermarket.com. Has anyone used them? as I've never heard of them and just wanted to make sure they are alright before handing the money over. ThanksMummy to two beautiful girls and one gorgeous boy.0

Beware, I believe their policy cover leaves a lot to be desired - check out the full policy cover on their website.0

Views on them are rather mixed.Certainly their comprehensive cover has gaps but if you are only looking for tpft cover I would still cover my own car with them if they were cheapest.
They are a sizeable Irish company who started up about 10 years go and they ae higly profitable unlike most UK insurers.

I was wondering whether or not to go with Quinn Direct and have received their paperwork today.
The thing that makes me question their service is that their paperwork is VERY amateur (looks like it's just been printed off a small and cheap office printer) and they are amazingly cheap for me.
I tend to work on the principal of never wanting to claim anyway and I only have a £1k car with Third Party Fire and theft.
Also, the strange thing is this: I have only 2 years no claims bonus and I am 21 years old. Reading through other posts on this site I have found that others have said there is a minimum of 5 years NCB needed in order to take out a policy with Quinn Direct?
Any recent feedback on Quinn Direct would be appreciated. Thank you. :T0 -

I also had a very competitive quote from them and received their paperwork in the post, which seemed fine and really easy to read. Their website is also well put together. I only have 1 yrs NCB and have phoned them to confirm quote.
Looking through their policy they seem to have made some changes inc. lowering their excess. They also provide a courtesy car and don't cancel the policy if a total loss claim is made, unlike elephant.com.
Having looked at other peoples' comments I'm probably going to give them a go, not before trying to negotiate a better price!!!! (can only ask):j The £2 coin savers club = £90 :j0 -
Hi,
I would strongly advise against obtaining car insurance with Quinn Direct. They may be cheap but if you make a claim, they'll make their decision based on how they will make the most money for themselves in the long run. They don't do the right thing, they do what's best for them. It doesn't matter if you're in the right, they'll go with the third party if it works out better for them. They do not investigate the vehicles or scene unless you repeatedly request it. My previous car insurance was with AXA, and they really provided a professional customer care service. I've since cancelled my premium with Quinn Direct.
I was advised by friends and family against going with Quinn Direct.... wish I had listened!0
