From what people have said on here, if you've paid for your dress in full and they had it in the shop then you'll hopefully be ok. Fingers crossed for you x
Other than the standard email response that I got around tea time I have not heard anything, just hoping that from the comments on here that I will get my dress, but i wont stop worrying until I definately have it.
Just had a look online for ideas of dresses as a worsed case scenario, but its just making me more upset as nothing will compare to the dress I have ordered, as im sure you will all agree on your own dresses too.
It is an absolute nightmare yes, a photographer or florist, yea you would still be gutted and stressed, but they are so much more easy to replace, but the wedding dress is just something that cant be replaced, and the thing ou get most excited about. Fingers crossed for us all, and we all get sorted with our dresses.0 -
Hi Everyone, im too in the same boat, ive paid £750 off my dress , my wedding isnt until next August so i doubt i will get a penny back. I do feel for all of the brides whos weddings are so close, at least i have plenty of time to turn this around, i really do hope they are doing as they say and getting the dresses to the brides who have paid i really do.
Businesses go under all the time, i get that, but they have known since July yet still take our money and pretend they are putting oders through when really they are just trying to keep themselves from going under. Its just wrong on so many levels.
My friends auntie worked in the Liverpool store and she had no clue, just got told on the day not to come into work and she wasnt being paid either. One of the staff told the local paper here that she took £1000 cash off somebody on THURSDAY!! And if she had any idea they were closing she wouldnt of took a penny. Its just a total nightmare.
Mine too is Essense so im really grateful for the number been posted here as i couldnt find one on the internet, im going to call them on Monday as i literally had a call from Bridal gallery 3 WEEKS AGO!!! Saying they were just about to order my dress and they were checking if i wanted a corset or zip back! I do also have wedding insurance but one final thing aswell for everybody else which i didnt know! I bank with Santander and my friend works for them, she is convinced that you can claim it back if you had paid by debit card. She is going to look into it more for me on Monday.
Feel so sorry for you all its just awful0 -
Thank you for the contact details for essense I will call them Monday.
Apparently if there is found to be proof that they knew they were going under prior to your payment being taken, then they have committed fraud. I intend to get this info once it is available from companies house and if this has been the case I will report it to the police. I understand companies go bust but its the principle that they will have known the difficulty they were in, yet took my deposit only a week ago. In my book that makes them criminals, the lowest of the low.0 -
I am NOT a director of the company, i posted to try and give the information that i have got, i understand that this is a horrible time for everyone, and my friend was crying for most of the day. I wouldn't wish this on anyone, i'm just trying to explain what happened to us in the hope that it sheds a little more light for everyone else.0

But what happens to us brides who have only paid part of the total cost, where do we stand? I know I still want my dress and I will pay for the rest of it. nobody is replying to emails and there is no contact phone number?????0

Hi bridalgallery,
I appreciate you posting on here, as a lot of the brides are just scrabbling for info.
The problem is that there are so many ifs, buts and maybes, with a lot of brides facing a very short amount of time to perhaps resolve the situation. Personally I have insurance so just want to know if you can confirm liquidation so that I can claim and move on. Waiting for an update from you on the status of my order and the headdress you already hold is not really a risk I'm willing to take, particularly as you have shut down all avenues of communication. I understand why you have done this, but it leaves us all in a very difficult situation.
If I wait for my order to come in (it was due in just a couple of weeks) then your company tells me you can no longer fulfil the order in a month, I'm left with no dress and no time to order it elsewhere. So (I'm sure like many of the brides on here), I'd just like an honest appraisal of the situation for me to deal with appropriately while there is still chance.

Hi Bridal Gallery,
Thank you for posting on here. I'm sure you can see how many brides are upset, panicing and concerned and just want answers.
Can I echo racee-Berrys comments - my dress was due in in a couple of months with a deposit paid. I too have insurance and if you can confirm liquidation then I can go through insurance to claim my deposit back and order a new dress. I've been advised that if I do this this week I will get my dress in time from another bridal shop. If I leave it any later I won't.
I have emailed you 3 times and had no specific answer. I understand how busy you are, but us brides would appreciate complete honesty.
If you are in liquidation please confirm it so we can claim through insurance and ensure we can get our dress in time from elsewhere rather than risking waiting.0 -
Hello again, well ive put £200 deposit down on the sample dress from in the shop at tarleton. So the girls just said they would bag it up until i needed alterations nearer to my wedding day. It's the Hollywood dreams arabella. Pleas please please let me have it, its THE dress. Thanks0

Just to update, I have just had my phone call from Dawn and feeling so much more relieved, my dress is due to be delivered on Thursday. I am sure the other brides you will receive communication also soon.0
