• Hi,

Just want to let some of you know that I emailed the British Bridal Retail Associaton and they have got back to me today. They are currently in discussion with the Administrators and hope to get back to me soon. At least it is another route of checking how/if we can reclaim our deposits but suppose it does depend on if they kept up their membership payments etc. Will keep you posted if I hear anything else.

Dear Bethany,

Thank you for your email. We are working with the Administrators as I write. I am seeking clarification on the position with the company and will get back to you as soon as I have information for you.

Kind regards

Gordon
• We are aware The Bridal Gallery Group has closed down its stores and urge all customers who have ordered Dessy/Alfred Sung dresses to make contact with us directly to check the status of their order and we will provide any assistance we can. The Bridal Gallery Group stores were independent shops and The Dessy Group had no control over the running of their business. We are not aware of the customers relating to the posts on line and would request if anyone has a query to email lynda@dessy.com or call us on 01909 774444. Our postal address is The Dessy Group, Unit 5, Vector 31 Network Centre, Waleswood Way, Sheffield, S26 5NU.
• Hi all just to let you know I spoke to the liquidators today who pretty much confirmed there is nothing they can do and that the only option is to deal direct with suppliers and basically pay again and try to claim back. However they are making this very difficult because they keep sending stupid letters saying they are hopeful to fulfil orders which is a LIE! They are using delay tactics for whatever reason! Gutted
• Hi all, I have been advised by the administrators that they have been in talks with the British Bridal Retailers Association and that I should not pay any further money even to another store picking up my order and that I should keep any eye on the BBRA facebook and website for some information to be announced - it seems that they are trying to make it possible that we only pay the trade price for our dresses although I did explain that my 50% deposit did not reach Sophia Tolli but they have said that it still might be possible that I only pay the trade price.
• Has anyone else been told that you can only do the visa debt chargeback for transactions within 120 days? the liquidators have said that after a 100 or so days you are unable to claim the money back!
• Hi, the 120 days start from the day you know you are not going to received your goods/items or they go into liquidation that's what the visa scheme says and lloyds tsb told me to.
• Hello,
Can anyone help/advise? My dress is on order through Essence Of Austrailia, I paid £440 deposit in August, in Cash...I am thinking of just cancelling my order, & try to claim the deposit back through my Insurance, as I have been in touch with them, & they are not commenting, & just saying that they can see my order. I'm just worrying, as if I need to get another dress, then now is the time I need to start looking...????? But if I cancel the order, but then the supplier says they were going to go ahead with the order, would my insurers pay out??? Help!!!!! xxx
• Interesting. Yet we have had no communication from the store - no email, no phone calls AND NO LETTERS! Despite the clain that everyone has been contacted...
• to be honest I think the directors are just trying to say anything to keep people off their back. I would take everything they are saying with a pinch of salt.
