My daughter gets married in May next year and she ordered her dress and bridesmaids dresses in the Tarleton branch of BGG, we have spoke to Ellis Bridal who have been very helpful and confirmed that her dress has been ordered and they will send it to a shop of her choice, however we have not yet contacted Dessy (Alfred Sung) as they are in New York. Has anyone else dealt with them yet? She paid the full amount for the bridesmaids, so in my mind she is the rightful owner of the property IF THEY HAVE BEEN ORDERED?
She has had a letter off BGG but it is no more than what is says on their website, the CC company will not start any action/refunds until BGG have officially declared liquidation. So we wait, as I am sure all you brides are and it's so frustrating and annoying.

Just noticed this on BGG website

UPDATE 24th Oct 9.00: After speaking with a large number of suppliers and brides over the last two days, the best way we can help all brides is to help you work either directly with the bridal designers, or through one of their other local suppliers, to obtain your dress as intended. This will enable you to receive the level of service you expected when you first purchased your dress.
We will be finalising over the next few days what each particular designer would rather their brides do, either work directly or with another supplier, and will contact each bride directly to give you more specific details. We will also post this information on here as and when we have it.
Of course you can also decide to fully cancel your order and obtain a refund for your deposit either through your bridal insurance provider firstly, or through your credit/debit card provider. We are awaiting final details on the process for each of these methods from our Administrators and credit card processors, and we will inform anyone who wishes to do so as soon as possible.
As we have continually stated, our aim has been to make sure we can provide the dress you ordered as intended with as little upset and inconvenience as possible, and we are still pushing forward with attempting to do so.

I am also getting married in may and ordered and paid in full the bridesmaid dresses. I contacted 01909 774444 and unfortunately the stated they had my order but no money so couldn't help :-(

If they where members of the BBRA or BRA and was using there "Buy with confidance schemes" brides should be able to get their deposits back through the insurance company it was backed by.

I have an Essense dress on order that sounds very similar and that was due in very shortly - I'm not sure what you mean by helping though? I think I've understood you correctly that the one you have is yours? x

    Oh no!
That's something they could have offered all their brides for Free if they where members, and I suppose it's not something B2Bs ask about if its not mentioned, how frustrating that they didnt offer it especially with this current situation.:A:A
My heart goes out to you all xx
  • Hello,
I paid my deposit on an Essence dress in August, at the Chester store...I paid in cash!!!!! I have received one email from the Bridal Gallery, which was just basically, the statement off their website. I've since received a letter, which is just the same thing.
I have spoken to Essence, 2 times, but they aren't saying much, they have confirmed that they can see my order, but won't say if they are going to go ahead with it...If anyone needs a contact no for Essence try 0800 961 140. The lady said they are still in talks over what is going to happen, & has said they will contact me when they know what's happening...I don't know what to do..I've contacted my Insurance, & they can't really do anything until the company officially go into liquidation. I have seen on the Essence website, that the nearest bridal shop that stocks Essence, is Bethany Hannah Bridal House, in Warrington. I have tried to contact them today but they are closed!!! Hope this helps anyone else who has got an Essence on order. xxx Let's hope we can get sorted, & thank god I have enough time to look for a new dress if I have to, I really feel for all brides who have their weddings coming up xxx

We found out about this today when my daughter visited the Chester shop to pay the balance (small) on her wedding dress. The dress was already in the store. Does anyone know whether she is likely to still get the dress?

It's really annoying because she has had to pester the store to get the dress in as they were trying to fob her off telling her it wouldn't be in until a few weeks before the actual wedding - totally opposite to what she was told when she ordered it. She had only just ordered her bridesmaid dresses (three!) a few weeks ago, paying in full!!

Why on earth is there no integrity with these people?

Her wedding is only 5 months away and she is unlikely to find another dress that can be delivered in time, but at least we have 5 months! I really feel for anyone with only weeks to spare.

Thank God for wedding insurance but we still have to find the money to sort everything out in the interim.

    Hi,
I know someone who has had their dress delivered, on Monday, & they ordered through the Chester store, so looks very hopeful xxx
  • Today I have had a call from begbies traynor. they are working through lists getting permission to pass personal details on to designers directly to help you. They where quite honest that I will need to go through insurers, credit cards and banks to try and get some money back. If people's dresses where in store already they are working towards handing them over.

mine unfortunately is not, the order is with mark Lesley but they haven't paid them so I am liaising direct with mark Lesley for help and they have been brilliant. paid in full also but they never paid mark Lesley!

as to my bridesmaid dress, I have paid in full for a Venus dress but the store never sent the order!!! Again though I have liaised direct with dawn at Venus who has been brilliant and helpful and is going to help with me actually getting the order done.

So I have started the ball rolling in filling in forms for the visa debit chargeback and the credit card refund and will just have to keep my fingers crossed I get something back. I am just liaising with suppliers direct and see if any other local stores are willing to help.

    Thank you Bethalphadog.

As we have said from the beginning the Designers and suppliers are here to help. We will not allow our past trading with bgg to affect the way in which we help you.

Venus have some amazing and extremely helpful stockists who work closely with us and will take your gowns in order to pass them onto you. Where you have a balance to pay our stockists will not charge you full price again. We are fully aware that you will have an extremely difficult time in getting your money back even if you do have insurance.

Most of the brides who have contacted me so far have been to Preston BGG.

Our Elite Stockist in Preston and Burnley is Crystal Eternity and they have been so helpful to us and to the Brides.

We all understand and sympathise with the predicament that you have all been left in so please feel free to speak to either me direct at Venus or crystal Eternity. We will help in anyway we can.
