Present for my 40th birthday

Other people might ask what special present they can get though?
I wasn't going to ask for anything last year for my 40th but I was badgered into choosing something because my parents and siblings wanted to buy me something.
I chose a watch because I didn't have a 'nice' one - I just buy cheap ones but I'd always hankered after one with an embroidered leather strap that I'd noticed in the window of the jewellers. So everyone bought me that and I love it - it's something I'd never splash out on for myself.
No idea what to do for my husband's 40th next year. He's not like me, he likes to splash out and be treated. When we first got together I hated celebrations because he spoiled me too much and I'm such a miser, it made me uncomfortable

I am 40 next month and also have a Pandora bracelet so dh is getting me a charm for it, money is tight as dh only back to work recently after redundancy so we cannot afford to go away and no one to look after kids.
I do not wear my bracelet everyday but can add to it slowly and will have memories attached to each charm. The worse thing thing is I have to work due to a mess up with my hols, what I'd really like is the day off!!'You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. What about a professional family photo shoot?
You'll have great pictures to remember your 40th, and it can include the whole family?0 -
Hello, my OH is 40 next week and have no idea what to get him. He is into writing and would love to be a professional writer one day. We went on a holiday in October and have our wedding early in January with a honeymoon to New York so a bit skint on booking a trip away. Would like to get him something to cherish, like to think of good presents, any ideas?
You haven't given an idea of budget but what about a really good pen, like a Mont Blanc? We just had our Silver anniversary and I got my OH one of those pens as a surprise gift as I knew he'd wanted one for years, it was just under £300 (bought onboard a BA flight so a bit cheaper) and he was so touched with it.
For ladies who would like a special birthday gift, again depending on budget, what about a really good designer handbag or purse? For anyone who isn't too far from Bicester Village, there are excellent designer shops there where bargains are to be had
A good classic handbag won't date and will look good for years and years if looked after properly. 0
