Hi If anyone is in Manchester then Wythenshawe forum have a hairdressing and beauty school and I paid £3.15 for a cut & blow and its very very good and £12 for highlights which are better than the ones I paid £78 for in the hairdressers. Also Stockport college also have a hairdressing college who are very good they did my mums hair but the opening times are a bit more awkward.0

Wherabouts is the college? How easy is it to get an appointment? xI use the college in Birmingham all the time for hairdressing They do it far better than any hairdresser I have used, a cut and finish costs £6.00 and they are supervised every step of the way. I had a colour and highlights a couple of months ago and it cost £22.00 including the cut and blow dry I always have 3rd year students do mine although I have never requested them.0 -
Ok quick qn about colleges- what do you do during the summer? Mine needs to be done every 4 weeks, so I am guessing I would need to go elsewhere during the summer hols?
Thanks

This is their website including the prices http://www.bcftcs.ac.uk/asp/SERV-spa.asp
It is really easy to get an appointment especially if you can go anytime. They are closed for the summer holidays from June to September the last day of term this year is 13th June. I make sure that I get mine done just before they close, and I have to use a local hairdresser for 1 cut during the holiday. I have one near where I live that is ok but they charge £12 for a wet cut only, so I onky go if I have to. I was told that they may have a summer school running this year but do not know what that consists of.0 -
Ooh sounds good! I managed to get a free of charge cut and colour at Umberto's in Selfridges tomorrow but may need a blow dry next Saturday so I'll go try them out
Thank yoooou! x 0 -
I had a cut & blow dry at local place for £19 (have paid £80+ in the past) - it really was a good investment. I had cut it myself before and it showed! This time round had really nice bob cut in with friendly hairdresser & worth its weight in gold for the boost it gave me - yes I've booked for a trim next month!0

I can only say for the Cambridge college but they have summer salons running twice a week, during the summer holidays.
So no need to go else where0 -
I get mine done in posh salons in the city centre of Birmingham that advertise for models. It's free or £5 for colour.0
