Hairdressers - Cost cutting?

            Hey
I have had my hair cut and coloured by trainee hairdressers many times, i have never had any problems, although it does take longer than a "normal haircut" in Tony&Guy i pay £15 and Andrew Collinge i pay £35 for cut and highlights

thinking about this as i have long hair and thinking of going for a shorter style as i am fed up with longer hair (i can now sit on it when its down!!) the only thing that woortes me is the maintinance costs of a shorter style as at the moment i only have a trim every few yearsDogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0

I had mine done by a local (and expensive) salon for £7, the only drawback was it took almost three hours!"Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."

I had my hair done at the local college and, yea it took a few hours, but the tutor checked absolutey EVERYTHING. It was a first year who coloured it and the lecturer cut it for me, whilst the student watched. It cost me £5
I would definitely do it again.0

I had my hair cut at my local college, where there are trainee students. It was great, done within the hour, same as going to a normal hairdresser, the teacher said my "hairdresser" had done a 10 out of 10 haircut, and she checked it before I left. Also the hairdresser asked me about my lifestyle and made the haircut to suit it, what a service and all for £8!!
 i highly recommend it.:T0

I got mine done today at the Hair and Beauty college where I'm a student by a Level 3 girl who already works as a hairdresser - to see her in the salon she works is £35, to see her today, it was £6.50 including a treatment and head massage 0 0

I haven't paid for a haircut in years. The hairdressers next to my work have local college students who, as part of their studies, have one day per week of "practice" there. I get it for free, the only drawback is that it tends to take much longer than a regular haircut. But generally they are very careful not to make mistakes, and they are supervised, so I feel safe enough. Besides, it'll always grow back. ;-)Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Most colleges have Beauty, Hair & Holistic salons, give them a ring to find out !! My local College offers a cut & blow dry for £6.00 , full head colour is £12.00, the last cut I had at a hairdressers cost me £25.00 for the hair cut and £45.00 for the colour....The students would be at level 2 or 3 and are supervised by lecturers at all times, I would never go any where else.0

After years of meaning to try it, I've finally rung my local two colleges and booked myself in for two days of beauty treatments.
First day, Facial, pedicure then Indian head massage
 Next day Full body massage
Buy 4 get 1 free, so all of those will come to about £30:D
I would expect to pay about £150 in a normal salon.
Then the other college, reflexology for less than £10 I think it was:D
 Usually about £40.
OK, so they are trainees. but I bet they are very keen & they will be supervised.
You can't have what you want when you want it. You have to take what they are doing in their course. Better towards the end of the year;) They will be well practiced.
But hell at the prices they charge, I will buy whatever they are offering, when they are offering it:beer:
 Will report back.
Probably wouldn't use the hairdresser section & I will still go to my local Chinese nail bar as I like the way the young man who does them, does them!0
