New College Nottingham has excellent beauty services, at several locations. It also have an excellent restaurant!Gone ... or have I?0

The local colleges can be very good. I sometimes get my hair coloured by them but I would never let them cut it. I know they are learning but I have seen some disasters in the past with the only remedy is the tutor having to correct by cutting shorter:eek:Fire up the Quattro!0

I have been to my local college's hairdressing department a few times. I was attended to by first year students. The student coloured my hair under the watchful eye of her lecturer and the lecturer then proceeded to cut my hair whilst talking the student through it. It cost me £5 and I would definitely go back again.
I have only been in the beauty department as a paying client once but, having been a student for three years, I can honestly say that we were not allowed to practice on the public until we had practiced enough on ourselves (which was pretty good
) and even at that, the tutor will be carefully watching each student. We took £6 each for a facial, full body aromatherapy massage and reflexology and those were third year prices!
I shall have to go back when I can

I use the college in Birmingham all the time for hairdressing They do it far better than any hairdresser I have used, a cut and finish costs £6.00 and they are supervised every step of the way. I had a colour and highlights a couple of months ago and it cost £22.00 including the cut and blow dry I always have 3rd year students do mine although I have never requested them.0

Toni and Guy in Sunderland oftens does trainee cuts and colours.
I got my hair done there for £25 which is great as I have lots of colour going on.
It did take a few hours and I had to go in the middle of the day, but the trainees were very well supervised.
The trainer went over my cut at the end and it's one of the best I've ever had.DEBT FREE! Sep '08/£9,800 in Oct '06 :beer:0 -
Does anyone know if there is a hairdressing/beauty college that does cheap haircuts/treatments in the glasgow area?0
-
Second what the above posters have said about your local college - my SIL is training & she 'works' in their salon a couple of times a week, she has told me that haircuts start from £3 !!! (although I don't let her touch my hair at the mo!)
Also, one of the local salons in our area has a training school - everything is 1/2 price, been there a few times & a cut cost £15, colour started from £20 - for a full head of foils. I went there when I had a shortish style - & I was really impressed with the service. Just a word of warning, make sure you don't have anything planned afterwards - they normally take ages, because of course they are training!
That isn't very cheap for a cut, my hairdressers charges about this for wet cut.0 -
So good yesterday, with the Facial, Pedicure & Indian Head Massage.
I'm booked in for a full body massage today & was so impressed with them yesterday that I have booked in for a cut, conditioning treatment & blowdry (hopefully they will iron it).
It saves me making an appointment later in the week at my hairdressers.
The guy I liked left & no-one else there really impresses me.0 -

Hi Reid Kerr College in Paisley have a good salon that I use for beauty treatments. I have also had a wash and blow dry. Very, very reasonable but only open on a Friday I think. Can you let me know if you find out that there are others in Glasgow area?0 -
