Through the year I expect they'd be fine, apart from predictable peak times like 14th Feb, Mother's day or Easter.
If they'd recognised their limitations in the run up to Christmas and stuck to the limits they'd set at first - there were only supposed to be 50 of the 3x3 (£55) offer- then they would not be in the mess they are now.
If a business promises a posting date, then the business needs to plan for it, it is a legal contract for services. Fobbing people off by changing dates, sending out incomplete or skimpy hampers because they've run out of items, getting ratty because people who paid months in advance want to know what is happening, making people who paid early wait the longest etc etc ... is an obvious recipe for disaster.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Like others I have been so disappointed with the latest hampers on the 6+6 for £89. The main reason I decided to go for the deal was the inclusion of the Surprise Christmas Hamper (value £49.99) as I thought these would make lovely gifts for our parents. I know the deal was an extremely good one (worked out at just over £6 a hamper including the free sweet jars) and I wasn't expecting anything like the hampers shown on the website. However, to describe it as a christmas hamper is stretching it a bit and even more so to describe the value as anywhere near £49.99. Mine contained a small christmas pudding for 1, a box of brandy snaps, a small jar of brandy something, 2 packs of 2 biscuits, (yes 2!) some tiny jars of jam and that was it.
The retro sweet hampers were even more disappointing. Like others have described - a few loose sweets, a small bag of rainbow drops and a dib dab.I wouldn't mind that the value is nowhere near the advertised one if it at least looked a decent gift to give somebody but I would be embarrassed to do that without buying extra stuff to put in which then defeats the object of the deal.
I did email and get a response quickly, followed by a phone call but I didn't protest as much as I should have when I was told that I was the first person to complain out of all the hundreds of hampers that had gone out about the Christmas ones. I did actually query if the sweet hampers were actually the free gifts instead of the Retro Hampers but I was told the illustration was there only as an image not to represent what I would receive and there was a disclaimer to say that with the deal. I wish I had been firmer but I somehow ended up accepting another hamper as compensation which would be filled with other bits I hadn't received in my first christmas ones. I'm hoping I may be able to swap items and improve the others when it finally arrives. I was told the Sweetie Jars had still not arrived but were expected today so I'll see if everything turns up before Friday.
I was happy to give a new, growing company a chance but after waiting a couple of times for hampers to arrive on time and the substandard ones received recently I've lost patience and won't be using them again. I appreciate they are keen to get all the business they can but it is frustrating when you see deal after deal being advertised and they have ended up with too much to cope with. Some people who ordered later deals have had better service and quality, whilst those who ordered one of the original deals (presumably to get the company more publicity) seem to have been put down the pecking order. It's a shame really.
Sorry for the mammoth post. Hope everyone gets what they are expecting in time to use as presents!0 -
Can I just ask, did people request certain hampers when ordering the 12 + 12 deal or just leave it up to them to choose?
I ordered the 12 + 12 deal and asked if I could have 2 + 2 before Christmas and delivery after 6th Dec as I would be away, and they confirmed this would be fine. I see now that I need not have worried about them coming early though, but got wondering whether I was supposed to let them know my selections, or just take pot luck. TIAMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

thanks for the post but OH NO i have used this company a few times this year never had a problem and hoping i still haven't
BUT i too ordered the Christmas suprise hamper and if thats all thats in it im not gonna be happy , i belive your right i paid inadvance October infact to get this deal i also paid in August£50 to get a £100 hamper again still not recived like u i kept seeing all these deals and them saying 10 only or 15 only first 5 will get and it seems they kept extending them , and now it does seem like those customers have taken president over those that have bought before and paid up front to get this business going - i am still gonna give it till tommmorow but this dont seem good does it :mad:0 -

Yes, it is a message Neil put on his twitter0 -
The tone of the twitter messages is really annoying me now. I feel like he's more or less accusing his customers of complaining unnecessarily, when in actual fact I feel we have been more than patient.0

truth is
he has bitten of more than he can chew
so unless my parcel has been lost in transit, which i have no way of checking, he has lied to me twice
once at the end of november, saying yes no problem you will recieve your parcel 1st week of december
and then last week by saying you will recieve end of the week
makes no difference to me as i wanted them for gifts for last sunday so had to go out and buy the gifts that i needed so unless i donate them somewhere they are only going to be stuck in a corner somewhere
once bitten twice shy, will not be ordering again if there was a problem would have much rather he said and not keep us all hanging on0
