  • I have been lurking on this website for a long time but registered today to post on this.

I got the original deal of 6(x2) + 2 free sweet hampers.

Now I am realistic and took the value with a pinch of salt but I have to confess being very disappointed with what arrived today. In the last delivery they said there was no vinegar but it would be sent on - it wasn't that was fine I can live with out it. They also said they would send all the remaining Hampers in November. Today the 2 Christmas Hampers (value £50) and the 2 retro sweet hampers arrived( value £30) . The others will come in January- fair enough as they were not due originally till then- but why say I will get them before CHristmas and raise my expectations- only to then not send them?

The Retro ones were much like the ones in the earlier photos- a few sweets at the bottom of the hamper- £3 or £4 worth max. Not even with any packing. I am too embarrassed to give it to anyone and will have to go out and get more stuff to add.

The CHristmas one- Well I think £20 more than £50. The worlds smallest christmas pudding, a piece of iced cake, an individual pack (for one) of shortbread- 80g) cranberry sauce(190g) and three of the smallest jars I have ever seen of Brandy Butter and two chutneys- i think they are 100g. There was a pack of minced pies randomly attached to the top. I really don't think that is worth £50 do you?

Now as I said I am realistic- I accept that the originally value might have been over generous but they stupid thing is- if they had been more honest people would be happier. It hasn't been a bad deal- overall I probably got- just about the value of what I spent. But saying one thing and providing so much less is always going to lead too disappointed customers

    OK Rant over

Off to try and think who I know who won't be offended at the worlds smallest Christmas hamper

Mine arrived Fri and I feel exactly the same as you, they are worth what we paid but certainly not anywhere near the advertised value. i have had to pad them out with other goodies to make them look good enough to give to others. The first few hampers were much better value and the items im them fitted the baskets better as well.

i understand they are really busy and I dont mind that things have been missed out or arrive late but I do feel a bit put out that they aremso obviously not the value they advertised at.

It is very disappointing. I am still waiting for my 3+3 festive goodies - cheese, chocolate and preserve. I am seriously hoping they come with all the goods advertised. Imagine my disappointment with the christmas hampers I received that didn't even have Christmas slab or mince pies. They have really shot themselves in the foot and I have lost faith. Before I received these last ones, I stuck up for this company. I won't be continuing to do so.

I ordered the Festive goodies(3 plus 3 free) and the deal was for 2 galaxy, 2 cheese and 2 of the xmas baskets. Did you ask for something different to what was advertised?

I think she ordered a few deals and is still waiting for the 3+3? I'm waiting on that too, and I really hope it has the port chutney in it because I've been salivating over the thought of that :rotfl:

I ordered those, still waiting too.

Today I caved in a bought a replacement gift that could be sent direct, so at least one long distance present will reach its destination in time to suit the recipients' plans. Bang goes the budget, drat.

I know have 6 "hampers" coming from them that were little gifts that I have had to buy replacements for. So they will arrive and I have no need for them, so however cheap they are they are surplus to what I need. I have asked if I can cancel the order and have a refund, but I don't hold out any hope. If the projected delivery date had been later than the first week in December then I wouldn't have ordered them.

I thought that but then priced it up on their we site and it came to £40ish minus the weird single packs of biscuits. The hamper is £9.99 alone and the fruit cake which is yummy is also £9.99.

Probably isn't what they said but I actually think its good value for what we paid which is less than £6 each hamper.

I still just want to know when or if I'm going to be getting my other 8 hampers!

£9.99 for a piece of cake! It would have to be made of gold for me to pay that for it. Still I am sure you are right.

The thing is though-as I said I don't think we got a bad deal- but that they promised one thing and delivered something of much less value. We shouldn't be saying oh it wasn't bad for£8 , we should be saying what a great bargain. The retro sweet hamper I got was really pathetic- there were a few sweets (and I mean a few) at the bottom of the hamper- it looked like the bowl in my hall at the end of the night on Halloween. The contents look like the cost about £2-£3 YOu can't give that to someone however nice the basket looks
