I didn't order the sweet hampers because of what was posted on here and i'm glad now.

So far i have been more than happy with them, just posted on there facebook asking when to expect delivery and was answered pretty much straight away, hampers in general are over priced i'm realistic about what i will receive and a big plus for me is the acualy hamper baskets as i want to re-use the one for my house as the main gifts for family next year you'd easily pay £10 for the baskets alone.

That was my understanding too - first week of December, which was plenty of time to send one on the long distance rellies who have interesting plans for the week before Xmas. Burrm.

I meant I thought they were being posted out in the first week, so if they were posted by Friday I'd receive them this week, if that makes sense?

I hope they come before lunchtime Friday because we're going away at lunchtime. Does anyone know how many tries the delivery company make, or how long they will keep the item for you?

I don't think they have facebook.

Couriers usually attepted one delivery then keep it for a week for you to arrange another one, a few companys try to deliver again the next day.

As long as they keep it for a week that will be ok :)

I nipped into Mr Simms today because I had a sudden hankering for Reece's cups, as you do. I might suggest a Reece's hamper to NHCo, that would be amazing :D

  • Well they showed a picture of the retro sweet hamper that was £30 at the time and said it would be worth £30 so I naively thought it would be similar if not exactly the same.

    MIne had in it
    1 dib dab
    2 Double Dips
    1 Sherbet Fountain
    1 Fiz Wiz
    I rainbow drops
    2 flumps
    2 small drumsticks
    5 double lollies(small)
    4 other lollies
A handful of black jacks and fruit salads
    2 miniature love heart packets
5 straws with sherbet in them

err that's it. This was all on top of a bit of red tissue paper. I could buy that lot for a few quid at the local sweet shop.

I was expecting a couple of bags of 100g of cola cubes or sherbet lemons things like that

Mine were nearly identical to yours except mine had 1 dip dap and 1 double dip and 8 each of the black jacks and fruit salads.

At the time it said retro sweet value, £29.99. The £29.99 hamper was exactly the same as the only that has now been racked up in price. Definitely not worth the amount.

If you needed them urgent & were told you'd get them first week in December then I would push for a refund. They are at fault by delivery late.

\mine were promised twice to arrive before last weekend as they were prizes for a school fete - havent turned up yet and I dont need them now anyway!!
  • Is anyone going to make a claim under the online selling rules then?

Can I guarantee that my purchases will arrive in time for Christmas?
Online retailers have up to 30 days to deliver goods, unless specifically agreed otherwise. So it may be the case that you have already left it too late.

If delivery before Christmas is part of the contract, and specified in a confirmation e-mail, then you may have a claim in a small-claims court for breach of contract if it fails to arrive before 25 December.

Otherwise, any goods that arrive late can be returned within seven days if they are no longer wanted under normal distance selling regulations

Or at least get a refund for the ones no longer needed?
I need to start saving so I plan to save £2 a week to start with:beer:
