Anyone else managed to get their bank to refund under the direct debit indemnity scheme?

    I've been Money Tipped!
I didn't want to post again, but the inevitable has happened.

ashellis - well done and kudos to the Co-op bank. Paypal will have set up a Direct Debit (check your Direct Debit set ups), that's how they take their money, like ebay fees etc. Claiming via the Direct Debit Guarantee Scheme makes a lot of sense. Let Paypal and Trading Standards and possibly the Police do the rest.

Please don't fight each one, the "pushers" seem to have vanished - job done!!

Good luck to all, though some will lose out to this LIAR.

If being a CONMAN was an Olympic event, he may not have got the gold medal, but he would have been on the winners podium!!

Run a business?? He couldn't even run for a bus!!

Please follow ashellis's lead - ASAP.

Well well, why does it not surprise me that you felt it necessary to point out what a bad person I am for relating a postive experience. What I wrote was the truth about what I experienced at the time, my gut feeling came later. At the point I collected my hampers why would I need to assume that it would all go this way.

I don't have to justify myself to you or anyone else for the decision I took to purchase hampers from this company. I am not responsible for what happened so don't try and heap any guilt on me as I have done absolutely nothing wrong. You didn't purchase and have lost nothing. Well done you.

First of all not once have i called you a bad person.I was just pointing out how your posts conflict. But if you say you got the gut feeling later why didnt you have the guts to come on this thread to tell other people ie lack of stock in the shop etc.And no i did not purchase any hampers but at least i stand by what i have posted.and if my posts have stopped just a few people from adding to Neils holiday fund then i am happy.

Why drag up the past, no point in starting an argument over something which can't be changed!
Why try and make someone feel guilty, the only guilty person in all of this is Neil and all his alter egos who posted on this thread, funnily enough no sign of them now!

I see that the website has been taken down completely now.
Was going to take a screenshot where it confirmed they'd stopped trading in case the credit card company required it.

Good to see that they could get some things done quickly when they try.

He apologised profusely, and then went on to tell me the great news, he was filling out a form for me to claim against the Direct Debit Indemnity Scheme, and I did not have to do a thing as he had all the details already etc.

AND my money will be credited into my account within 24 hours !!!!!!!

A word of caution...... l was in Farepak way back when they collapsed and we were told about this BUT all the bank does is try and reclaim the money from the company concerned.

If he's in liquidation - as was Farepak - they cannot get their money back and will take it off you again when they find out.

Please clarify this issue with your bank urgently.

You maybe covered because you paid by Visa Debit and are covered by Visa itself - not the DD Indemnity Scheme.

    Happy moneysaving all.
  • I have just been on to a !!!! from the Halifax bank for 42 minutes and am now more cross with the bank than with Norfolk Hampers!
I could not speak directly with the Direct Debit Indemnity team (?) and had to rely on back and forth information. was cut off from my first call, so not sure where that would have taken me, but my conversation with this !!!! was useless.
I am told that I cannot use the indemnity 'thing' because I paid via paypal. Explained that the funds came from my bank, but was just told I had to contact paypal.
Have raised a complaint, for all the good it will do me.
  • My !!!! noun has been removed! I only said t*at.
