Paypal only have the power to freeze their account, but what if there is no money in the account?

If you we're in time for a PayPal claim but there was no money in the account you would still be paid out.

I'm guessing Martin was too busy acting the smug prat on Countdown.

Who do I make a claim against for spitting coffee all over my iPad whilst reading that! :money:

I remember....you were constantly posting and warning us. Then the majority of us were dismissing what you were saying. If only we had listened to your advice....

You're right....this was planned from day 1. It infuriates me to think that I was talking to this man a few months ago and he was lying at the time.

The series of catastrophic 'errors' during the past few weeks point towards all this being deliberate.

I'd trust an amoeba with £120 of my money rather than Neil.

Hi i just want to post that i feel so sorry for all the people that have lost money that they have worked hard for.To be far i could have been wrong as my posts where just from a gut feeling like a few others also had.It just makes my blood boil when i see a low life like Neil taking other peoples money.

  • It beggars belief that this thread is 186 pages long and nobody at MSE towers has got involved! Maybe it's cos it's not 'high profile' enough to generate decent publicity for the site:(. Shame! Anyone posted it on the consumer action forum? They are usually good with this kind of thing.....don't know the addy and working for the next few days so if someone who knows the web address could post that would be fab.....and at least then we may have a chance at some decent group action against this jerk.
:rotfl:If it weren't for stress I'd have no energy at all. First rule of acting: Whatever happens, look as if it were intended.;)
Don't follow in my footsteps, I walk into walls:smileyhea When in doubt .............mumble.
I may look busy, but I'm just confused.:T I smile because i have no idea what's going on.:rotfl:

We did have some brief involvement:

    But that was it.

I doubt that they can give more advice other than what's already been said on the past few pages.

    :(

  • I just want to say how sorry I am for the people that have lost out on their hamper deals. I was one of the lucky ones who got most of their money back when we didn't get the Christmas Hampers. I received two of the twenty four hampers and wanted to continue with the deal but was afraid to take the chance. I really admire the kind hearted people who were willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and he has taken advantage of this. I just hope that this experience does not destroy their faith in human nature.

Good luck to those of you still claiming from banks/CC companies. The total lack of communication in the way he let all paypal claims time out so that paypal paid out rather than himself does suggest he knew what was coming :mad:

    .

To be fair, there was some involvement from MSE. I got a PM telling me off for calling some of Neil's supporters stupid. :rotfl:
  • I was able to collect my hampers from deal for 2 of the £55 deals in the first week in December. I also took out the £90 deal which I was too late to get a refund from paypal for and unfortunately for me my husband had been selling on ebay and so my payment was taken from funds he had put in. I received one of the hampers from the deal so am down a minimum of £60. The hampers I got were well worth it and we still have some things left so maybe I could say I got reasonable value for money which is luckier than most other people.

Sadly, I am not surprised by the collapse of the business, perhaps I saw the writing was on the wall when I visited the shop - just a gut feeling at the lack of stock on display and then all of the failed deliveries and refunds etc.

My son's partner has relatives in Caister so I will ask them to keep an eye on the shop. I am not too far away myself and so may take a trip through to see what might be going on.

Like some others I had been promised a hamper next week, which considering I could not get a refund I was going to have.

I may or may not log this with the CAB - I have yet to decide. One thing I do know is I will not buy hampers in this way again.

    We live and learn.
