  • Can somebody check companies house for a new phoenix company? I certainly wouldn't put it past him.

Sorry for possible stupid question - what is a Phoenix Co? X
  • I have just tried to do a paypal claim but as I am over the 45 days its been closed straightaway - am annoyed with myself for not doing it sooner!

Have you read my post above, you may be able to try a chargeback or Section 75 refund with your bank/credit card provider. It is worth a try for just a telephone call.

Exactly. The same directors start a new company before closing the insolvent company and carries on trading through the new one. Completely legal but morally reprehensible. A friend got caught by one that owed him a lot of money in wages.

Useless bank are saying the chargeback scheme doesn't exist!!!!! Not giving in that easily, it's on the visa webpage - You can also have a right to ask your bank to make a chargeback, returning your money if you do not receive goods or services as expected, if goods are lost or the wrong goods are received. That covers pretty much anything you can think of, from an airline going bust to a mail order jumper that does not arrive. Most purchases made abroad are also covered.

Spoke to a manager and they're sending out a form to fill in. We fill it in, send it back and then when they receive the form 48 hours later we're refunded - sounds too good to be true at the moment, but time will tell!

    What a bloody fiasco!

So furious about this. Neil rang me last week and promised a cheque "as soon as I get my new cheque book" what a complete lying !!!!!!

Going to try my cc company, Tesco MasterCard, but don't hold out much hope to be honest.

Now let's hear from all those idiots who came on here sticking up for this pathetic excuse of a company. Huh, don't hold your breath

Do not take no for an answer if they state that on the phone, ask to be put through to a Manager who understands chargebacks.

Many of the frontline staff will not come across these so you will need to stand your ground.
