  • Still nothing for me :(
I have requested a refund but haven't had a reply.
Have sent my complaint form off to Trading Standards but don't think that is going to do anything really.

Have also opened a dispute with Paypal, I'm out of the 45 day limit but hoping they still may do something.

To be fair, I didn't buy anything from the company. I just lent them £80 of my hard earned cash interest free for 3 months.

  • I thought I would add my ten pence worth although I don't usually post on here as I feel it is important to highlight the number of customers who have been let down by the Norfolk Hamper Company. Particularly as certain people with poor grammar and spelling (or one person with several accounts) appear to be keen to recommend the NHC on here.

I had never heard of the NHC until I read about it on this forum. I paid for the 12 + 12 offer in November as it seemed a great way of covering several gifts with little input from me; I run my own business and have little time to spare for things like this and I was particularly busy in December. I placed my order on the understanding the December hampers would be sent out in the first week of December; this was crucial to me as I was meeting up with the recipients and wanted to give them the hampers when we met. The hampers didn't arrive in that week and I did not hear from the Norfolk Hamper Company so I had to waste time chasing them and was told they would be sent the next week. And of course they didn't turn up so by then I began to have doubts about the company having read some of the comments on here (about delays and inferior products) and having been given incorrect information by the owner of the company.

I did not want to have the same hassle every month for the next 11 months so luckily I made a decision to cancel my order and asked for my money back. I was "fortunate" to receive a refund without too much hassle but I did not receive a response as such to my email and did not get an apology or explanation as to why I had been misled. I appreciate many of you are still waiting to get a refund and are in a worse situation than me but I am still annoyed that I got messed around by the Norfolk Hamper Company, and that I had to waste time emailing them and then having to look for alternative presents.

I don't have any sympathy for the NHC as they were clearly greedy and took on too many orders without ensuring they had sufficient staff. They were quick to charge me and many others for our hampers as soon as we placed our orders and despite not having the intention or ability to deliver within their own promised timescales. I also found it unbelievable that they closed their business over the Christmas period for so long and without clearing the backlog of hampers or arranging refunds or sending apologies. They seem to have wasted time writing comments on Twitter and on here and being defensive rather than trying to sort out their own mess as quickly as possible.

And one other thing that has really annoyed me is that I am now on their mailing list although I did not ask to be and was reminded of this sorry saga on Christmas Day when they had the audacity to send out a general email; talk about rubbing salt in the wounds.

Even if they sort themselves out and are able to offer a better service in future, I would not use them again because of the attitude of the owner and the appalling way in which he is prepared to treat his customers.

I hope everyone gets their money back soon.
  • I've had email confirmation from my CC today that my charge back is complete and the money will be credited back to me in the next couple of days. Yay!!! I was out of the 45 day period for paypal but luckily paid via my Amex card. So happy it's all over but I have NEVER received any response to my communication with NHCo.

Good luck everyone else in getting your refunds
  • A week after Neil advised "cheque would be sent in the next few days" I am still waiting.... I've just emailed him again... I got the generic reply back... Can't see what is taking him so long? I can only assume that he has no idea which orders are to be refunded/ fulfilled. I think he needs a better system of doing things all round!!!

I just wanted to say that I am pleased that so many of you are getting your refunds at long last.

It is worth remembering though for those that think this company deserve even more chances, that if this was an ebay business and not a 'real world' business it would already be dead in the water. The negative comments, forced refunds against the will of the seller and the level of disatisfaction generally would have seen this account closed down on Christmas Eve.

Hey everyone, just thought I'd check in and see if you all got your refunds today. I've just got back from a business meeting in Manchester. Funnily enough, a little bird told me our favourite hamper company proprietor was also in Manchester today giving a radio interview. Probably accepting the small businessman of the year award: :rotfl:
