If you don't mind me asking, How much did you recieve back? Did he take the full retail price off for the 2 hampers?

I paid £114.99 for the 12+12. When I opened the case with Paypal they asked me what I would be willing to accept as a settlement figure and I said £100. I hope this helps.

I have received my refund from paypal too today :j.
I am delighted to have got my money back, but still disappointed with the fact that I ended up having to get rubbish last-minute presents for someone I really wanted to give a nice treat to, due to false promises from NHCo.

Well done to PP, not so well done to NHCo, who have still failed to respond to my dozens of tweets/emails/registered letter
By the way, my PP refund was delayed by a few days because when I finally received a delivery from NHCo (after cancellation and too late to give as gifts), I updated the claim to say that I had received 2 hampers (from the 12 + 12), but they were not what I ordered. The claim then changed from 'items not received' to 'items not as described', and the 10 day period started again.

As I have not heard from NHCo, they have obviously not responded to my query about what do do with the 2 incorrect hampers they sent me after I had cancelled my order. What are other people doing with these hampers - just waiting to be contacted by NHCo? I do not wish to keep them as I have now been refunded but equally have no intention of paying out of my own pocket to return them.
  • I think it's sad how people can't give their own opinions on here without getting slaughtered. It's a forum, where people who are happy or annoyed are free willingly able to give their view, and shouldn't have to worry about the reaction.
If they want to give the company a chance, then let them, without the patronising quoting and bullying.
I think some certain people get a kick out of going a stage too far.
Obviously people are annoyed about the situation, which they so rightly should be, but that doesn't mean they should take it out on those who have a different view.
  • Good to see many have had and are getting refunds.

As some of you know, I live in the village where the shop is located and when I drove past today there was activity in there and it looks like they're getting the shop ready to re-open again tomorrow.

Maybe they're just sending out the Christmas orders? :rotfl:

When you have been on MSE a little longer, you'll appreciate that both viewpoints are acceptable; and that it is common for people to argue against viewpoints and provide their reasons for doing so.

Welcome to MSE. You really should venture out of this individual thread and have a read of some of the other forum areas, you may find them useful and/or entertaining. Unless, of course, supporting the NHCo is the only reason you are posting?

    Hi,
I've not contributed to the thread before but have been following it closely.
I ordered the 12+12 and received nothing. Fearing that the order was never going to be satisfied I raised a Paypal claim as I was within the 45 days. It escalated to a dispute straightaway (not sure if it should have done or if I clicked a wrong option somewhere)and it was found in my favour today and Paypal are going to refund me.
I did write to NHC requesting a refund but like many others never got a reply. I also contacted Citizens Advice as was requested earlier in the thread so Norfolk Trading Standards could see the level of disputes.

I think part of me will always wonder if I would have received something eventually but the money back in my account is worth more than a faint hope.

I hope everyone else who is in dispute manages to get their refunds or their shortfalls sorted out without too much more hassle. I feel there are probably loads more like me that have been following the thread, who have been affected by the whole sorry mess, but haven't put their head above the parapet.

Can I ask those who received cheques for refunds how long it took for their cheques to arrive?

I got a PayPal refund for my 12 + 12 deal, as it was within the 45 day rule, but I was promised a refund for a "Christmas Special" deal, via email, from NHco on 31st December and as yet haven't received anything :(

In pretty much all cases here orders are being cancelled/refunded as they do not comply with the contract which means that any goods received then refunded the customer has a duty of care to look after for a period of 21 days from the cancellation request. During this 21 day period the company can make arrangements with the customer to collect the goods at their own expense (the customer has no obligation to make arrangements to return unwanted goods themselves but if they do then the duty of care will extend to 6 months).

If you have not been contacted by NHC within 21 days from your order cancellation request with information regarding how they plan to arrange collection of the goods (eg: notification of when a courier is being sent to pick them up) then you can dispose of the goods as you see fit whether you choose to give the food items to a foodbank & the baskets to a charity shop, keep them for your own use, chuck them in the bin or whatever else you may think is appropriate it really doesn't matter you can do whatever you want with them after 21 days have passed.

The only exception to this is if you contact the company & say you intend to make arrangements to return them yourself in which case you must take reasonable care of the items until you do so & you must return them within 6 months from the date of the order cancellation you may also become liable for the cost of returning them in such instances.

Further info about returns under the DSR can be found on plenty of websites such as:
