The Norfolk hamper company thread

Returns ar more complicated if you have used part of the order. Under the terms for the hamper deals it states:
"if you decide to cancel the deal after you have received any of your hampers we will offer a refund or credit note after we have deducted the value of the hampers you have received at full retail value."
Which means you would get a refund but the used hampers would be deducted at their normal selling price on the site not the deal price & given how high the normal prices are that is an awful lot of money to lose.0 -

Yes I was fine doing this but i'm a little concerned that he responds straight away when I tell him I will put in a claim and yet when I ask him a reasonable question as before I am ignored. I have been very reasonable and very patient in all of this and I have even forgiven the fact the hampers were very substandard and not what I ordered in one instance.
In regards to the terms and conditions it's not a case of me changing my mind it's a case of not being sure if I can trust the company not to fold and take my money with them and not receiving fully what I ordered. There are people who have gone the paypal route and done this despite what they state in their terms and conditions as surely if they can't answer customers queries polite requests and fufil orders correctly they are in breach of the contract themselves.A lot of fellows nowadays have a B.A., M.D., or Ph.D. Unfortunately, they don't have a J.O.B."0 -

Sorry frugal shopper I think my reply came across a bit rude I didn't mean it like that lol!! Just in a rush am in work!! Thank you for the info and you're right that is a lot of money to lose. If he tries to quote this to me however i'll get the hampers back take out what I put in and give them back to him as substandard! lol!!

It doesn't come across as rude it just shows you are understandably frustrated at the situation.
The problem is that the company is so slow to do anything and is not communicating with customers so it is not yet clear what they will do about unwanted hampers. Basically there are 2 options either they will make arrangements to collect unwanted goods in which case all refunded items must be returned or they will write them off and the recipients can dispose of the goods as they see fit.
Getting a refund under the distance selling regulations for the hampers is not a problem but you do need to retain the goods for a while just in case the company decides they want them back & makes arrangements to collect them. The point I was trying to make is if you use a product (or give it away as a gift) even if it is substandard it technically counts as acceptance of the goods which makes obtaining a refund more complicated.
It is entirely possible that the company will decide collecting hampers is more hassle than it's worth & tell customers that have been refunded that they can keep them as a goodwill gesture or they may refund hamper deals with deductions for any retained hampers based on the deal price rather than the normal selling price but until people are actually contacted about the unwanted hampers & start posting on here to let others know what is going on with them the best thing to do is keep hold of them just in case.0 -
hi
i have been following this thread with much interest
i ordered the 12+12 deal and i none of my hampers arrived
i have emailed neil and got a reply
and i am willing to give this guy another chance so i have asked for my dec and jan hampers to be sent out when shop opens next wk
i know people will think i am mad but i seen this as a good deal when i ordered and i know he went about it very badly
but i see it as if i get the hampers next wk and they are like they are meant to be then all good i am willing to take the risk
if goes good then win win if goes bad them im still in the same position that i am now .0 -
Thanks Misty I have also registered my complaint with Citizens advice.
didn't want to really but feel that I am in the dark about what is happening to my money .............0 -
i had filed in my complaint with citizens advice. they asked me to contact paypal or alternatively the charge back route. i have tried both avenues but have not had any constructive response so far other than they will look into it from the bank and that a claim has been raised (on the guest account) from paypal. i too received two hampers (none of which were requested) but have not used them. so fingers crossed as to getting a refund. i initially asked for a partial refund but if they are going to charge full value for the (pathetic) hampers i would rather have the full refund and they can take the hampers back. and so the saga continues0
