I think the one who was offered the free hamper on twitter is HERE and never posted since.

Maybe others were offered free hampers also for promoting the "shyster"??
    Any refunds today??

I received my 6+6 hampers early, as I requested them to be delivered before the end of November. I did post that I had received good service from Norfolk Hampers, but at no time was I asked to post, nor was I offered any free hampers. The deal I had included a free sweet hamper, which was to arrive with the Christmas hamper, but this was for everyone who ordered that deal. It was a small wicker hamper with four jars of sweets inside.

Although I am pleased with everything I received, and it was all in date, I wouldn't order from Neil again. I really sympathise with everyone who has not received their hampers, or have received sub standard goods. I couldn't trust this company to deliver, and my sister, who had the same deal as me, agrees. It wouldn't be worth risking, and I also feel that it would betray those who have been let down so badly.

I'd be quite surprised if the message doesn't reach Martin, though? I've reported my own post to make sure that the forum team have at least read it, and in the report I explained that this is too important an issue for so many people, for this thread to be overlooked and ignored.
    We can but try. :o

I would imagine the whiff of legal action would mean there will be no response?
  • There must be a lot of people who have ordered and have never come across MSE. If they are (probably) in the same position as us, no hampers received, they must be feeling even worse than we are. We are able to exchange stories and information, and we know we are not "the only one". To be isolated and unaware that others are in the same boat must be awful, to not have this support here must leave people feeling very vulnerable.

    update..........
    after no personal contact,
    after no hamper,
we had (email)communication yesterday, full refund turned up in our account
    today........
we contacted neil by email, he replied and accepted request to transfer money into bank, which showed up in our account this morning.
    refunds are happening!!!!!!!! yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
my personal opinion is that anybody that has had no PERSONAL communication from this company have the right to say what ever negative comments they like, we were so angry and worried we were going to lose our money. A simple apology and set time frame for a refund will put many minds at ease. I will never use this company again as i consider them useless at what they do-- "provide hampers "
If anybody doesn't understand why people are so angry, then try climbing down off your fluffy cloud and live in the real world where there are " other" and "real" people.

I didn't know anybody said it did. However, someone posted that Neil owns a domain name for Suffolk Hamper Company, and people are understandably concerned that he could close down his current business and start again under a new name.

Having said that, it does appear that a few people are now receiving refunds, which is good news. Hopefully more people will have their refunds processed in the next few days, before everything escalates further.

thank you for letting us all know but I am still not understanding how you are even getting a reply let alone a refund. I have sent numerous emails and cancelled my order and did my paypal claim the second I realised I was getting nowhere and tomorrow is their limit for replying via PayPal. So why can I not get a response and a refund as I do not see how I have not done something that you have done? :o:(

I can't understand why I have, and why u haven't. All I can report is what I have done and that I did get a refund paid into my account.

PLEASE don't cast aspersions on my character, as seems to be happening with anyone who reports anything positive about this company. I am simply stating what has happened. You can see I have been a long term member on here, I was fairly sure this company was taking people for a ride. I have no idea why I received a refund. My email before I passed Neil my bank details was actually fairly abrasive to him. Like many on here, I'd had enough of the delays and lots of doubts.

But I have reported what has happened, hoping to give other people an idea how to deal with this. It worked for me, just wrote giving the order no., details of the order, my paypal transaction number, and bank details. I received a refund paid directly into my bank account the next day. I don't know how it was paid. I have no reason to lie, have written about 6 emails to Neil in total, twittered twice. Most received no answer until the last two or three days. That's all I can say. I hope others have the same success I have.
  • Deanna, I don't think angel13's post sounds like she is casting aspersions on your character? To me it sounds like she's just exasperated at the situation and voicing her frustrations at seemingly unfair treatment.

Yes, the hampers were advertised as being delivered during the first week in December. When I emailed Neil in November to check that they would be with me before 5th December (as they were being exchanged that weekend) he confirmed they would be. They weren't. I had no sleep for 3 nights die to a poorly toddler and my own illness, but had to make replacement gifts to take with us. They actually arrived on 10th December, the day after we came back, woefully under filled with poor substitutions. The label stated they were sent on the 7th - ie after Neil had promised they would arrive.

I didn't tweet him myself, but I saw the tweets of others and the vile replies he posted.

At no point have I said anything slanderous or vile about Neil. I have however commented in his obvious shortcomings.

I did ask him on twitter where the threading posts were on mse as I had only read complaints not anything actually threatening him and they I don't think the police would investigate a factual complaint with no threats but he didn't respond and closed his twitte account shortly after.

Hopefully everyone gets their refund before he opens again for business on the seventh as he might get too judy Sharon once the shop is open. Maybe he should hire more staff
