For ch26 (sorry new user so can't do links at the moment) re: Christmas Hamper.
I'm so glad you posted that list, I'm sure this is the same hamper I ordered way back in August, paid £20 deposit with £30 to be paid later. We opted for picking up our hamper as we live fairly near and decided to save the £4.99 delivery. Anyway when we got our hamper home and looked through it I said to my husband that I didn't feel I had received the full amount of items as listed on the site. Unfortunately when I went back to the site the list had disappeared. This is what I received:
Blueberry Jam
Raspberry Jam
Christmas Pud
Christmas Cake
Marmalade with Whisky
Chilli flakes
Coriander seeds
Ginger and Soy sauce
Cranberry sauce
Apricots in Whisky
Honey
Apple Jelly
I also ordered the 6+6 deal and ended up having to pick some of those up at the same time too due to failed delivery.
omg chilli flakes and coriander seeds what is this bloke on !!!0 -
i have just been on the phone to paypal ,
and they have told me that i have basically lost my money , there is nothing they can do , as it is well out side the 45 day (paid on the 23rd october) , and i cant claim through my debit card as it was paid with paypal balance
so i dont think i will be getting my money back
Dawn see what I have posted earlier. I too was out of the 45 days. Think it's on the previous page and comes directly from PayPal24 beers in a case - 24 hours in a day. Coincidence? :beer:0 -
btw just had another look and both of the just had cheese hampers i got are packed by blueberry foods so have come in assembled in the box and then just need to be sent out to us (if you are the one who has ordered that one that is). So no packing whatsoever was needed for these apart from posting them out to a customer. Theres a barcode even on them (5023944024746) so its the sort of pre packed one you can buy from garden centres etc. nothing wrong with that normally but there is when the company havent got you the order as supposedly "packing" and other lies.0

Just got home and 'hamper' has arrived. Posted 24th, in bashed box. Small tray containing not much (see pic). This was supposed to be the large Christmas hamper worth £100 that was half price if ordered in August. List of items supposed to be in hamper was as follows
Christmas Pudding
Brandy Butter
Mulled wine Chutney
Hot Toddy Chutney
Rudolph Relish
Mincemeat with Brandy
Peaches with Brandy
Christmas Fruit Cake
Mince Pie Biscuits
Christmas Pudding Biscuits
Strawberry Preserve
Raspberry Preserve
Marmalade
Choc on choc Christmas pudding chocolates
Chocolate Liqueurs
Shortbread Biscuits
A mixture of chutneys
Plus extras from us to say thankyou for your support throughout the year.
Not impressed...
That hamper is the £31.99 hamper that was part of one of the deals.....it was £31.99 RETAIL on the site......so def NOT £100 hamper.....they had one on for £51.99 as well with loads more stuff including raspberry biscuits, Belgian mint truffles etc...... So Totally Not a £100 hamper.....not even by NHC standards.
No UKmail delivery today ( so that's three dates uk mail have given me and failed to deliver........they haven't responded on twitter and they haven't responded to emails since 23rd!). So much for good customer service!:rotfl:If it weren't for stress I'd have no energy at all. First rule of acting: Whatever happens, look as if it were intended.;)
Don't follow in my footsteps, I walk into walls:smileyhea When in doubt .............mumble.
I may look busy, but I'm just confused.:T I smile because i have no idea what's going on.:rotfl:0 -

sorry No i do have a question
60 orders trading standards were told before christmas was the extent to the orders owing and we all said yeh right
and im still saying that come off it , someone was being economical with the truth there !
and those 60 orders even if we all bring our self's forward to today
any let me choose my words carefully here "reputable" business person would have had a list of those 60 and could have by this time in the day at least "personally" -emailed with this is what we owe you and this is our proposal to deal with it - because its obvious paypal wont let him refund that way so what is he gonna do
well i think i know BUT it don't end with the words here's your refund Sorry and goodbye0 -

Hi all,
Just wanted to share the content of my discussion with paypal just this afternoon regarding this hamper gate.
I had received two hampers on Christmas Eve which were not as requested and were also too late for gifts. Anyway, given the large scale problems, i was worried and filed a paypal claim. Today I called paypal and they said that their buyer protection in terms of 'Significantly not as described 'do not apply to these goods since these are perishable goods. However they would restrict seller account if there are large scale complaints. They feel that the card companies are better able to deal with this.
Any thoughts folks as to what to do now?
Well, will call up card company to get their response.:(
Paypal are talking cr*p, looking back through your posts you received the just add cheese & galaxy hampers neither of which contain items which are perishable. The only perishable goods NHC supply are fresh fruit & flowers your order did not include either of these items therefore they cannot use section 13 (c) of the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 to refuse a refund.
I have never yet been successfully refused a refund under the distance selling regs for food items regardless of what the companies interpretation of the regs was.
Perishable foods which the regulations refer to must be liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly such items include fresh fruit & vegetables, dairy products & all foods which must be stored chilled or frozen. Even if somebody had an order which contained some of these items eg; a few pieces of fruit they could still return it under the DSR & would be entitled to a refund for everything except the perishable items.0 -

Oh sorry Dawn. That was the reply they sent to me today. I believe that it will open and close but still be logged so they will Investigate. The more that do it the more weight there will be into forcing the refunds for everyone x24 beers in a case - 24 hours in a day. Coincidence? :beer:0
