Think we'll be lucky to receive 2g of brandy butter, 4.5g of Christmas pudding, a quarter of a mince pie and a half-eaten shortbread in these silly hampers.
(Neil got a bit peckish; hence, the half-eaten shortbread).

Yeah right, and I bet you also think that tomorrow nght some jolly fat man in a red suit will turn up on a sleigh and everyone will be happy and jolly eating mince pies and singing around a log fire. Get real, this bloke is incompetent at best, and a crook at worst, and I'll be surprised if any rubbish boxes of galaxy or sherbet saucers turn up.
I have a friend who works for a large parcel delivery company, unless the sender of the parcel has paid a massive premium most parcel companies would have stopped guaranteeing before xmas delivery on about wednesday!0 -
Can't believe some people are sticking up for this company.
Plain and simple truth is that this fiasco has cost me, and mamy others, so much in money, wasted time and worry.
I don't care any more about whether the bloody hampers turn up tomorrow - too little too late if they do.
Wish I'd never heard of the company and don't give a toss what becomes of the owner.
Going to try and put this out of my mind for now and get on with having a good Christmas.
However, if you do have your spies reporting to you, about what's being said on here, Neil, I'd just like to say, I hope you receive the karma you deserve - shame on you!
Thank you, to all you MSE'ers for sharing your stories and I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas in spite of all this x0 -

I think I have been very reasonable waiting until the last moment
But last day shopping tomorrow .........
I will have to go shopping tomorrow (nightmare) to buy 6 x Christmas presents for everyone that was getting hampers
and then come home and wrap them all (groan)
Fingers crossed for bargains in BHS ..........
Don't forget to put it in a letter as well, and send it recorded delivery. That way the little !!!! can't claim he didn't get your email.0 -
An idea which might suit a few people struggling to sort out last minute gifts - possibly an afternoon tea voucher?
See http://www.afternoontea.co.uk/ or http://www.afternoonteaonline.com/vouchers/afternoontea/
Doubtless other sites sell similar things.
Appreciate this won't appeal to everyone, but hope it'll be useful for a few people.0 -

Does anyone have a template for the letter we should send? Think Citizens Advice were going to let us know, but I haven't heard anything back from them just yet (though they're probably on holiday).
Also - if we send it recorded delivery can we also claim back the cost of the postage from him?! Would hate to lose an extra fiver on top of the £100+...0 -

Couldn't agree more! Wish I'd wised up to this shambles a week ago instead of giving him the benefit of the doubt. I can't quite work out if he deliberately set out to con people OR if he is just so unrealistic and greedy that he didn't know when to call it a day? Either way we're all stuffed!!! :mad:0 -
Hi everyone and Merry Christmas.
Even though I think we'd all have rather received refunds or hampers I have to say that the thread has been a great support and I hope everyone can put hampergate out of their mind for a few days.
After trying to open a case with Paypal which was immediately closed because I was out of the refund window, I sent an email to Paypal to make them aware of the situation and said there were many people like me who hadn't received goods. Anyway surprisingly I've received an automated email to say they are investigating... anyone else had one in this situation?
And yet on my status it still says case closed... might try ringing later if I can escape the madness for 5 mins....0
