Unbelievable. He is now talking about 'the Christmas period' rather than before Christmas - sounds ominous :(

I know. I got so excited when I was notified of a email from NHco. And then opened it up to see this pathetic update
  • "Dear Customer

We have had many issues over the past week as you are probably aware of with comments about our company about late delivery of your hampers, we are working closely along side trading standards, the police & the regulators of certain social network sites & MSE.

The police have informed me any comments that they find on these sites to be found threatening & untrue action will be taken against these people.

We have been advised by these authorities to keep you all informed & up to date with the present situation. We will be sending all the remaining hampers out for you to receive for the Christmas period.

Our team at the Norfolk Hamper Company are working very hard to make this possible & have been unable to answer phone calls & emails & will be no longer posting on Twitter due to putting all our efforts into getting these out to you.

We are sorry for any inconveiniance caused to you for the late arrival of your Hampers & are aiming to put this right the best way we can.

Thank you for your time & support.

    Nice try, sunshine.

Right, that's decided it. I'm putting in a paypal dispute, and e-mailing press and trading standards.

Up yours, Neil. You're a thief and a liar and your greed has caused misery for hundreds of people.

  • While its good that we are getting communication........:T
All of this bad feeling could have been avoided by good, HONEST, early communication in the first place.
I honestly think a lot of people are most annoyed about being lied to.
I hope the NHcompany learn from this experience that good honest clear communication is one of the best business tools anyone can have.

"We have been advised by these authorities to keep you all informed & up to date with the present situation"

they have to be told to communicate ?
surly it is just good manners , and common sense that tells you you need to communicate with your customers !!

but like many other that are still waiting for hampers , most of mine will arrive to late ( if at all ! )

The generic email sent to all has made it even worse. I have responded saying that I have already filed a dispute with PayPal and I just want my refund in full as I have had to buy replacement presents and I have lost faith in anything the company has ever told me.

I have sent an email cancelling my order as it has obviously not been despatched. I told him that I would claim from my credit card company and / or the courts if he doesn't pay, and forward all my evidence to Norfolk Police as taking money and not supplying goods is theft. I also said that despatching goods to arrive "during the Christmas period" is unacceptable as they were Christmas presents.

Obviously I got the automated bounce back email, but I gave him a deadline of 1000 tomorrow to either provide verifiable proof of despatch or a full refund (including postage costs) onto my credit card.

I did also mention that I don't believe he took any extra staff on, and all of his tweets and emails were designed to stop people from complaining.

I will let you know if there is any movement but I'm not holding my breath.

oh dear this is gonna be nice and easy
    1) first off its more than a week as Many of these hampers were due the first week of Dec2012 which in the calender is 7 days so ie by the 7th of December
    2) working closely with Police /TS/ and social networking sites ie MSE i presume that to mean if that was the case then they the aforementioned bodies would have informed you of your own responsibility's as a business /trader in regard to putting this situation right -
    3) The Police unless asked by NHC will not take action against anybody unless complaint has been made and can be proved and again see point 2 in regards of NHC OWN responsibility they will not tell you NHC that they will take action they may in extreme cases point out or have pointed out to them that an action is warentable but they wont take action like you are suggesting
    4) the aforementioned bodies mentioned in point 2 have asked you to keep customers informed. On a site such as this it is in MSE interest that if any wrong doing is undertaken by its members they would issue there own warning -(cant see one of those) in fact to avoid any wrong doing MSE/POLICE would not allow a forum like this and would have taken this section down
    5) i agree IF these bodies are involved again see previous points they would have told YOU to keep your unhappy customers informed with Truths of what is going on NOT the information we have already been given by NHC
6)unable to answer calls - except from the aforementioned Bodies who miraculously have managed to get through on the telephone when customers have not -no longer posting on twitter well we see how long that lasts - as we have seen you make that promise before BUT we have to accept that from this point that you will keep off BUT we will be watching as to when/if this statement is broken
    6) NHC are sorry for any inconvenience caused - ty for the sentiment BUT too little too late comes to mind here
    7) you are aiming to correct this - well i known a few customers have asked for refunds because you are in breach of contract that would be a good way to start
    8) could it pls be clarified what you NHC claim the Christmas period is and 8a) this I believe is a change in the original terms and condidtions
    9) thanking us for our time and support - i cant speak for anyone else but time we have had to accept 9a)support i think that has been lost by many a long time ago

I THINK THIS IS ALL TOO TOO LITTLE TOO LATE
    WE WILL ALL BE WATCHING
