a well made argument ynot.
my own objections stem from the appalling way they treat their staff. and the fact they see cheap fairs as a liscense to treat you like crap.
But Principles cost and as i have started venturing back in to Asda after vowing never to spend a penny in their again due to Wal Marts shocking practises worldwide and most significantly banning employees from joining a Union ( or at least faling to acknowledge it). like Ryan air you cannot fault Asda's prices ( or selection of Real Ales  ). at the end of the day you have let people fight their own battles i,m afraid.
if i take a ryan air flight again i will make sure they are losing money on me by not spending anything on extras...that will cleanse my guilt
.
In what way do ryanair (or ASDA for that matter) treat their staff appallingly?
From what I gather, neither seem to have much difficulty recruiting staff. Both pay ABOVE minimum wage and have profit share bonus's and staff loyalty schemes.
What do you have to do to be considered a good employer?0 -
What do you have to do to be considered a good employer?
ooh lets see. ASDA wal mart first
not spy on your staff and intimidate them if they want to join a union.
not emloyee child labour and sweatshop chinese labour to make your products
not make people do unpaid overtime
not fire people for having adult relationships with people they work with
contribute more than tuppance hapenny to your employees pension scheme
i could go on but i suggest you rent this , and make your own mind up

as for Ryan air.
how about not make their staff work like slaves for 16+ hours a day for slighty above min wage
not make them pay for their own training out of thier own pockets ( and then never leave a classroom let alone get near a plane)
not fire pilots for claiming to be to exhausted to fly after delays
not downgrade pilots for giving delayed passagers free drinks
the Channel 4 secret documentry was most eye opening.
heard enough ????? cause i tell you i don;t have to put up with things like that in my company and my Union would not let them even think of trying it
P.S i would also never buy a Silent Night bed eitherBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
ryan air ? Ah yes, that little known US airline ! Didn't know they started flying in Europe !!
If you're going to slate an airline, then at least get it's name correct !!
And to those won't fly with them, wonderful, means more chance of me getting a cheaper seat when I want it !!0 -
Please, please , please do as the OP asks and stop flying Ryanair !
This will mean that I can book cheap flights much later like my £28 return flight to Alghero Sardinia in May .
15 Kgs hold luggage , so what !
Buy a lightweight case or holdall and travel light. Does anyone really need to take the kitchen sink with them when they fly ?

I'm a regular flyer with Ryanair and like many people treat the journey like a bus ride. As long as you keep reminding yourself, "you gets what you pay for" I always take a flask of tea and sandwiches for the flight and have never had a problem in doing so, because I refuse point blank to pay the crazy prices for their inflight refreshments.
Its quite funny to see the hard sell tactics of the attendants attempting to sell scratchcards to the passengers, it seems they are desperate to squeeze the last euro out of everone. One other thing that rather interests me is their 'Priority Boarding'. Last time I flew with them it was £3.00. I ask the question, what would happen if ALL the passengers paid this????? I guess one hell of a stampede across the tarmac.0 -

I live in the South East so have a choice of airlines and airports, but i generally fly Ryanair, because they are the cheapest. The saying you get what you pay for is very true, but that leaves all my money free to spend on things I want when I get there.
Would much rather budget on the flight and have more spending money and for a 2-3 hour flight do you really need in flight meals, its not a long time, take a sarni or wait till you get there.Any spelling mistakes are entirely on purpose to check you're paying attention
