Dauphin did they offer you the 725 or the 715 processor
There is a significant performance difference in these chips
P4 2.8 (as ordered) has 533Mhz Front Side Bus (FSB)
715 has a 400Mhz FSB
725 has a 400Mhz FSB
So to be of at least equal spec the processor must be the 725. You WILL notice the diffence in performace of these chips.

I rang them earlier to find out what the situation was...ended up 25 minutes later being cut off!!....during my conversation with three different customer services operators I was told my order had been cancelled, my credit card had been declined (which it hadn't), the inspiron was discontinued, there was insufficient parts available..and on and on...I was basically told your not getting it.....When I quoted the terms and conditions and said I was aware of people being offered a similar spec system the last operator I spoke to actually started laughting. I asked to be put through to someone who could deal with my query which they were unhappy to do and eventually they said they would transfer me to customer service where I ended up being cut off before transfer.
I decided to send them an email instead after thatWelcome, rogerramjet.

No phone call here either, I was emailed 5 days ago to say someone would be in touch.

If this doesn't come through, then I won't be going to Dell for my next PC. Customer service leaves a lot to be desired!0

I have just received my new order confirmation. I got everything per my previous posts, and memory upgraded to 1280MB. Needless to say, I am delighted and I hope everyone else who is still waiting will be as successful. I will be watching your progress with interest and if I can help I will certainly do so. My estimated delivery date is now 30 April.0

Well done dauphin - what a fantastic deal. Just to clarify, did you do the running and phoning or did you wait for Dell to sort it out for you? I've been waiting for my call but not a sausage as yet!
The original 1150 spec I ordered with wireless and dvd/cdrw came to £522. Did you have to pay more than this?0
