Hi Guys
Just started claiming charges back for my boyfriend. I know I should look back over the previous posts but what does MCOL stand for?

Oh and also, I am claiming back £1404.91 interest included, does anyone know whether they settle easily for this amount or is there no pattern?0

I sent Abbey a letter on the 15th claiming back my charges. No response.
Do I proceed to court or do I call to see if they received the letter?
Thanks, LK0 -
There doesnt seem to be any rhyme or reason to how the banks work.
Just going by the success stories on here, some banks seem to pay out quickly and some not,( but the all pay up in the end) it doesnt seem to have anything to do with the amount.
You should read through some of the success stories it will give you a better idea what you are dealing with.
GOOD LUCK0 -
I am in the same boat with Abbey.
Tomorrow is the deadline for their response...still nothing.
They have now had their 14 days...so it's Court action time!0 -
I have sent 2 letters to Abbey and had 2 replies saying they are 'looking into my complaint', is this just a delay tactic and should I start court proceedings0

I asked them for 75% of my claim as a final "offer" and gave them 14 days to respond or I would file at court. They have sent me a letter telling me it could take them 4 weeks which is just another excuse for them to buy time!
I really don't want the stress of taking them to court - should I ring them and try to get a settlement over the phone???
When the 14 days is up, I would file the court claim. You could call them, but they will most likely stall you again.
Many banks know wait until customers file the claim, to know they're 'serious'. It shouldn't be stressful if you follow the guide on here.0
