OK so I responded to the court allocation and in the box for Any further information that may be relavant I requested that the Abbey should provide detailed information to support thier claim "the fees reflect and are proportunat to the expenses incured".
Now we have a HEARING DATE BUT THEY REQUEST " All parties shall send to the other party and to the court written statements --- of all the evidence". All the evidence was there on the initial on line application to moneyclaimWhat do I need to do?
My claim is for less than £200.00 but is begining to cost me in time and effort as I do not understand the process.
Is the court able or likely to take into account my additional costs of turning up at court etc?

If they've requested another copy of the charge information, send it. I know they've been previously supplied and they're being awkward, but it's better just to send them what they want again! My claim is for less than £200.00 but is begining to cost me in time and effort as I do not understand the process.

What don't you understand about the process?
If you want to claim for additional costs, this makes the claim more complicated. I would be inclined to stick with the process unless you are sure you know what you're doing.0 -
Recieved statements this morning for 2006 - Jan - March of 2007 so just waiting for the rest.
The statements sent to me so far have no main charges on them only like £2.00, £0.99 and less once every month which are intrest charges while my account was overdrawn so nothing really for me to claim for i dont think unless im looking at the wrong parts of my statements although around 2002 / 03 i can remmeber them charging me more for being overdrawn.
Most of my big charges were over 6 years ago0 -
Have just received a copy of Abbey's Allocation Questionnaire and in it they have asked for the claim to be postponed for 1 month (what a surprise). In the expert witness section they are calling 1 witness who will deal with (analytic and forensic accounting of bank charges and comparison of industry standards)
Has anybody else had this?
Any info would be good

Hi there
I've written to the Abbey with the relevant letter and attachments asking for my bank charges to be refunded. They have responded within the 14 day period with a standard letter saying how sorry they are that I'm unhappy with their service. They profess to investigate my claim and come back to me within 4 weeks. Should I ignore this and stick to my 14 day 'respond with the refund of my charges or else' letter, threatening legal action, OR, do I wait for their 4 week period to be up before I respond?
Not sure how to take this further. Anyone had experience of Abbey's cunning ways? My charges amount to £4,010 exc. interest.0 -
You stick to YOUR timescale not theirs.Reclaimed thanks to this site:

Ooh yes I've heard about this.
Basically it is a bank rep who tries to justify their disgustingly high charegs and the judge throws it straight out (cos we all know it is BS) and finds in favour of the claimant in all the cases I have heard of.
I wouldn't worry it is just another tactic they use!!
