Just take them to court if that is the next stage... The FO will take a further 3 months probably and that the reason they have said that..

I don't really think it matters if you count weekends or not,as the Shabbey seem to be dragging things out with everybody.Don't let this put you off (thats what they want)but all the claims at the moment seem to be getting to a court date before Abbey are offering anything like a reasonable offer. We are just waiting for a court date and don't expect any offer till 11th hour. This is why all Abbey customers need to pursue this and take them all the way. They have treated us badly as customers and continue to show their true colours.Just remember they want to be in that court room alot less than you do Good Luck Everybody0 -
Halifax Credit Card claim on behalf of my daughter.
5th December requested statements
27th December received statements
2nd January requested settlement for £207
10th January fees in line with terms & conditions - no refund.
11th January second letter requesting settlement before Court action.
29th January MCOL
No acknowledgement of service, no defence issued.
8th March - request for Judgement
9th March - Judgement entered with a request for immediate payment.
21st March - letter from HBOS, charges are correct blah, blah, without
admission of liability we will re-imburse the whole amount.
22nd March - cheque received for the full amount £303.04 from Halifax Card
Services.
I couldn't believe their letter of the 21st March, Judgement had been entered against them for goodness sake
I have been asking ABBEY for my charges since before christmas and they made excuses about investigating it. Excuse after excuse after excuse. Time passed and I was forced to take my case to court. Abbey filed a defence and I am looking forward to having my day. I am owed over £850 and was offered £250 I told them NO. Then out of the blue gave me some recent charges back without my requesting them to. Is this normal behaviour and do i have anything to worry about?. I'll be glad when it's all over. I'm going to open another account but can the bank's legally close your account. I'm sure the finanacial Omsbudsman will find this interesting.0 -
Last week I sent my £10 fee and a request for all bank charges or Statements for the last 6 years. I received 1 years statements soon afterwards. Today I have received a letter basically explaining that they don't keep information for charges applied to my account for the last 6 years but they can supply a list of transactions on my account which will include any charges applied (Statements I assume).
However, to process my request, they are asking for a £10 fee and can not deal with my request until the fee has been received. Obviously I have paid the £10 fee but do I contact them to tell them this or do I wait until the 40days are over?0 -

Have they banked the cheque you sent them? I would contact them and tell them that you have already paid them and they still have 40 days from your original request to supply this infomation to you. They will supply you with a printout of transactions for the reamining 5 years so they won't be in a statement format.0 -
I am waiting on the microfiched statements to come. Do I give them 40 working days or just 40 days?:: BCSC #71 but now discharged! ::0

...When I challenged the Abbey with this I was told "each case is different and if someone has told you they have got all their charges back they are lying as no banks or bulding societies pay back all the charges". So my boyfriend is lying then - I did all the work for him and read the letter the Halifax sent!! Just shows you the kind of incompetant people we are having to deal with!!
Just a thought but did you get that in writing ? Defamation, libel and slander spring to mind. Bank workers should be more careful tut tut !0
