the stupid thing is that is was an interest charge of £1.20 that put me overdrawn. I'm not going to lloyds to avoid charges its just that abbey have annoyed me so much with their incompitence to do anything. I have a joint account with LLoyds already which is the reason for them and i've never had any problems. So i understand that i will still be charged.0

I am in the process of applying for a mortgage with Abbey but because I have had a problem with reclaiming my bank charges they are holding up the process.
I had an overdraft of £161 which was entirely made up of charges so I started the process of reclaiming these charges. While I was in contact with one dept another dept in Abbey sent my case to the debt collectors. i complained about this and they said they would stop it but it did was sent again and they stopped it again.
I made my complaints by phone so have no written record of this.
The matter is now in the small claims court awaiting the outcome of the OFT hearing.
If I pay the £161 will that effect my court claim if the OFT wins the hearing?

Abbey have made an error on my account which I didnt notice because it was on 2nd of month when all my bills go out.The credited wrongly £20 to my account.I didnt notice as I often pay in sums like that amount.
Unfortunately I'm a single parent, low income so tend to have to watch the pennies. On the 12th without notification they took the money out.I received notification today.Checked my account and was overdrawn by £19 in three transactions.
Now had I been prior notified with reasonable notice this would not of happened. Are Abbey in the wrong? The cashier was quite rude and said because it was a mistake they could!
Pardon me if I'm wrong but 18 years ago I used to work for the Halifax and i'm sure this would of had to be keyed and prior notified in a certain way.
I'm going to complain as Ive only had one charge ever over £3 in whole of my 18 year banking history.
Are the bank in the wrong? Can someone advise? More importantly will I get £90 of charges thanks to their mistake which I cant afford!
Ive paid £20 in late morning but I had to borrow this of a friend.0 -

I work for abbey, for my sins lol !
Put your claim for bank charge reversals in before the results of the test case should come out, so thats its registered, they will automatically reply after this, so we have been told.
Your mortgage will not be connected to the test case and charges refunded so go for itLittle Miss Sparkles :A

Hi guys, My sis has run up approximately £400 worth of charges this year with her Abbey Bank Account. Are we able to start claiming these back or will it all be put on hold until the results of the court case?0
