I am also claiming from abbey. I received my 6 yrs statements in three lots, the last 14 months statements were duplicates ( but beware there is no charges summary as on normal statements you need to go through every transaction), then i had a summary in table format covering 2 years and then copies of all transactions before that. mine also took longer than the 40 days but they did refund my £10.
Hope this helps!:mad: Abbey charges-£4979 case stayed 07/08:mad:Abbey £800 refunded for hardship:beer::jMEAF from Bristol & West -£75 reclaimed 20/07:jNat West Charges-£1169 1st letter sent 19/07Barclaycard charges- £163.20:j0 -
I have claimed £3600 from abbey and have just received a goodwill gesture of £545 that has been put straight into my account. I am not happy with this amount. Do I tell them to take it back or accept this as part payment but advise that I am still going to court for the rest?0

Apologies if this has already been covered - too many threads and search not too good - expect other banks to follow suit.
Abbey have changed their terms and conditions - if you go overdrawn above your limit you will now pay a unauthorised overdraft acceptance/facility fee - the amount based on how much you go overdrawn, charge will be between £5 and £35. As they are deeming this a fee for a service it's not a penalty so chances are it circumvents any decisions by a Court/OFT etc.0 -
sneaky devils though it doesnt surprise me!0

Hi all
After nearly 7 months of going through the process with "Shabbey" they have advised that they will not repay any of the charges taken £1130. I was going to start court proceedings but after the announcement I wont. However, I still intend to get these charges back and will wait until the final decision has been made by FSA, but, should I send a letter to Abbey to advise that "due to the FSA's decision to put on hold all cases where bank charges are being reclaimed I will not be starting court proceedings against Abbey for now. However, I do not consider the decision not to refund any of the charges made against me as a fair decision and do intend to take this matter further. Do not consider your decision in this case as final. As soon as the FSA have reached a decision, which I am sure will be made in the customers favour, I will re-commence this complaint."
Do you think this is sufficient enough to keep my claim open until a decision is made???
All replies welcome0 -
While it is up to you whether you take Abbey to Court you should bear in mind that the media reports on Friday were in accurate and you can still take court action and in the case of cases that have started continue them. So far as far as I am aware only Southend appear to have stayed any court claims. One other poster has had a judgment made in her favour this morning so court claims have not been stayed in all courtsAs I am not the Pope or legally qualified I may be wrong so feel free to get a second opinion from a qualified person0

I bank with the Abbey
Over the years I have incurred lots of charges, I have been trying to get details of these charges since February!, The bank acknowledges my request from March but have still not provided me with the information. If they had give me the details when they were supposed to, i probably would have had my claim settleed before this crazy OFT stich up.
I have wrote countless letters, made dozens of calls, What is the best way to make them provide me with details of my charges?0
