Has anyone actually had any joy with Abbey? I've seen many threads on Barclays, HSBC etc. I'm not sure what to do from here.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Folks
I've filed on MCOL and just waiting on the court date. However in the meantime Abbey sent me an offer of 65% which i believe is standard. I refused this and sent them a counter offer which they in turn refused( i'm sensing a pattern here!!) but said they would be in touch in the future to agree a figure
So I wrote to them asking for an breakdown of their admin costs when applying charges to my account so that should an offer be made I could weigh this up against their loss and decide if it was a reasonable offer.
I received a letter back today saying that I don't have a right to ask for this information.......... How so??

Right it's that whole admitting liability thing I guess!?
Is there any way to make them squirm a bit so they settle a bit quicker? I read on another post that there's a template letter to the court basically asking them to ask the banks to reveal their charges??

If any one has seen these point us in the right direction

If I find a quick way I'll let you know! Guess my first 3 claims were easy hits. Told Intelligent Finance to live up to their name, Marbles had sense, and IKEA got worried when they got a letter of the court! :rotfl:

I've received £50 for a claim of £526.54. Their reply is patronising and factually incorrect, as it does not deal with the Unfair Terms issue.

Is there a standard letter to accept this as a without prejudice part payment?

Your local court will write to you within the next 28 days. At that point you will have to see what they have sent you and reply as required direct to them (come back for help if you need it :))

After that it can be upto about 5 months to allow for paperwork etc. to be processed.

But read this and click Lee's link :)

    Hi,

Just blown me top! Got a letter back today from Abbey offering me a good will gesture of £285.00 on a claim of over £4500! Am only now starting to get over the initial rage!

Just a couple of questions, first I understand that I need to write back and include the words "without predudice" etc but do I send the letter to the writer of the letter, the original address I wrote to or the complaints dept.?

Also, because of work comitments and other things my timetable has been shot all to hell, will this have any affect if it does go to court?

    Thanks in advance!
