  • Just to let you know..Started the campaign in January for 6 years statements. Lots of correspondence and an early pitiful offering forced into my account...Despite dragging their heels 10 days before the hearing date they have settled just £ 600 short of my £ 5000 claim inc interest.!
A super friendly and helpful Abbey member of staff called me and offered settlement without argument. They also insisted my account would not be closed as a result of this situation. They even guaranteed to keep my overdraft!

Good luck and dont lose heart !

I believe that all of the charges come out 28 days after the date of your statement, so for example if your statements are produced on the 1st day of the month your charges will come out on the 29th. If you ring them up they will tell you how many days it is but I'm almost certian it's 28.

Hi Karen, if you follow the step by step guide on the reclaim your bank charges page then that should give you the answers you need. You should be aware that the Shabbey are the worst for dragging their heels and will usually wait until you file for court action before offering anything, but the most important thing is DON'T GIVE UP!! This site is fantastic and the moderators will try and help wherever they can, everyone is so supportive. I'm at the LBA stage (sent last week) so if no joy from Shabbey then it's off to court I go!! Remember, follow Your timescales not the banks.
    Good Luck!!:T Kathyxx

hi can any one give me some advice i got a letter from the abbey today saying that they are willing to make a part payment on my bank charges whitch i thought was great i read the letter it then said it was going to send it to the debt recoverys unit and take back any funds that i still have outstanding .
i have only had 1 letter from them it has been 12 weeks as i put in 2 claims this 1st one covers the amount of the first claim should i wait or keep pounding them for the other 1 which was a larger claim.
