  • Anyone good at maths?!

I'm just filling out my online application and am coming to th epart where I enter the particulars using the template from this site, but, I accepted a payment of goodwill. How do I re-calculate the charges?

    Here are the exact details

    Original Figure £797.91
    Interest £ 81.91
Gesture of goodwill payment £ 280.00

    Anyone help?

    Matt

Please tell me that it wasn't offered as a "full and final settlement". If it was, you cannot continue to claim the rest.

  • No, it was a "gesture of goodwill" and I have that in writing!

    Phew!

As the goodwill payment isn't based on any individual charges, you simply deduct it from the total. I make it £797.91 charges + £ 81.91 interest - £280.00 goodwill = £599.82.

Obviously, let the bank and court know whats happening.
