Grrrr to Abbey.
I received a letter from them Friday telling me i was £104.00 over my o/d limit. I rang then straight away and spoke to a lovely chap who told me they had taken £140.00 out of my account for 2 card payments which bounced. One for £2.77 and one for £3.14. I kid you not! I hadn't even received a statement about this.
He then managed to get £80 back in my account and asked me if i wanted the last 6 years of bank statements.
As a student i have taken these bank charges on the chin for the last 5 years, no more.
Bring it on Abbey!
Sorry i needed to vent.0 -
Hugo, email Pam Speed and complain about the delay. I haven't logged on for a few days and really htought that you would have received them by now. As I told you last week when I complained to Pam Speed about the delay I got a refund of my £10 fee and the charges info turned up within a week.
I haven't sent my letter off yet but will do it on Tuesday once the post offices and bank have reopened.
The only problem I have is that I am in Scotland and the court system is different here. Need to do a search and see what the others in Scotland have done regarding their claim and court
Hi Engadine, Thanks for the advice! Do you have an email address for Pam Speed?
A bank giro of £10 has been paid back into account and the only thing i can think of is it being the £10 fee refunded but i have recieved nothing to no for sure.
I did email abbey and as yet have heard nothing back from them!!
All the best

Hi everyone
got my back dated statements and have totalled up charges £876 + 190.43 in charges. Just about to do letter so to get in post tomorrow but a small question. I notice the prelim lketter on here is different to the one on the CAG which one have most of you used?
Michelle
p.s to StupidsStudent. My Sister just had £400 or so in charges due to her firm not paying her ontime. She got some of it refunded but then she got a letter asking if she wanted statements etc. Seems they are now pre-empting us lol0 -

The £10 is more than likely your refund, they do seem to be dragging your heels with your info. Hopefully you will hear from them soon, my refund was paid into my account a couple of days before I got my statement info.:j Debt free since 31/01/08:j

Hi again
beside my question above I am a bit confused so need advice asap. Re the interest I know you arent entitled to 8%interest unless it goes to court, but Martin reccomends asking for it at the prelim letter stage as an argument point. My problem is this; when I got hit with charges I just had less money the following month making things tough and maybe borrowing a bit from family. It didn't spiral me into further debt the following month. However, my o'd has always been maxed gradually increasing to its £3300 what it has stood at for sometime.
I may have increased it at some time due to pending charges, but I couldn't prove it. The posts here can be a bit confusing especially if you start at the begining lol. I have read that the interest being requested is the amount paid on the charges if they made you OD! Is this correct, hence I wouldn't be eligible or is the %8 claimed because they have deprived us of the money.
In another post(s) I saw that Abbey have asked how interest was worked out, so last thing I need is to get into areas I am unsure about. I used a spreadsheet from a member on the CAG that works out days since charge levied and interest owed. Hope I have explained myself correctly.

Good luck to all still in the process, thanks for all the advice and assistance to the website users and the especially the sites owners who got the ball rolling. I'll keep lurking and chip in if I can help anyone.0 -
I have used moneyclaim to claim back £100 in charges. Abbey have issued a defence. Has anyone else been through this stage??0
